What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Factory carpet mats are crap quality now....my advise would be to go elsewhere. My wives 99 SLK230K still has the factory mats that were fitted when it was new....just a slight bit of "fluffing" where your heels sit but otherwise they are still like new. Bought some new ones for a A Class about 2 years back (as it came with cheap rubber ones) from Mercedes Chichester.......they look like the same ridged material but felt softer from the off.....nearly worn through at the heel points and Merc don't want to know. Cheapening of the quality (but not the price!) just like everything else I guess

Took the original 19" alloys that came with the car, to be re-furbed and 2 New rear tyres, £360 for the wheels and £266 for the tyres, the wheels are originally polished but I'm ditching that and having them all Powder Coated in Brilliant Silver, pics when done. :) 👍

The mats in an embarrassingly expensive MB looked awful after a low mileage and just a couple years. They’re corded whereas they would traditionally be velour.

Replacements will be the same, and so I am reluctant to buy another set as they didn’t look when they were brand new, so I’ve ordered a completely custom set.

I’ve paid way to much for them but I want them to be at least as good - and ideally better - than the traditional Mercedes velour mats, but there are less expensive alternatives.

There is a guy on the Facebook AMG Owners Club selling "as new" OE AMG mats for the C, CLA and E class for £40 collected or £5 extra postage.
I have no links to the seller but it may be of use to someone.

I’m not suggesting that this guy does this but the mats are sometimes whipped out of cars which have been part-exchanged at garages and even main dealers.

Back in 2005 I bought a 2 year old C 32 AMG from a flagship main dealer. Between viewing the car and collecting it the AMG velour mats and even the C 32 specific gear shift lever were both removed from the car. The mats were not replaced but the gear lever was replaced with one from an Elegance model.

The main dealer swore blind that they were never there despite the photos I had, but the car was still a good buy so I bought it and replaced both the the correct items.

Ordered wiper blades for three of them, and crikey one set was exceptional in so many ways - they are by far the smallest and most expensive I’ve ever bought, and they will take a week to arrive because they must come all the way from Germany! Yes wiper blades. From Germany! 😳

Swapped over the questionable Steering Wheel for a standard black one off a W209 CLK. Its not perfect but I managed to get it (Including Airbag!) for only £30 delivered:

Will be wrapping the rest of the dash wood in Piano black soon.

Drove it 2 miles to the nearest Toby Carvery for an all you can eat £4 99 breakfast.
I know how to have a good time.
OMG, this is amazing. Just googled my nearest Toby Cavery and will be paying them a visit soon!

You mean you haven't had an all you can eat Toby Carvery breakfast before?
Only available Sat and Sun morning here. Check first to avoid massive disappointment;)

I love an all you can eat... but no, I haven't! Never lived near one, but there's one on a regular route I drive I now know... and it's on weekdays as well 🥳

Wow that original one was quite "aesthetically challenging" 😂.

Just got me wheels back from a Refurb and
Powder Coat, very, very
pleased with them, think they look great! :) 👍

Got lots of that on my cars too.....and all over the caravans at work!!

Should have waited. Mine looked like that earlier this morning. It has been drizzling all day and it seems as though the later drizzle must have less sand in it because the car looks substantially better. I can still see some small deposits in the spots where the water would stand but a quick rinse once this is all done with should sort it.

Got my work cut out here :(:
