What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Wow! its a long time since I saw a wheelarch with filler. I must have done hundreds over the years. Are you going to paint it yourself?
Yes, I’ve ordered a rattle can from eBay. Comes with an interesting warning that it should not be used for painting vehicles, presumably to satisfy some regulation. I’ll post up the finished job if I’m not too ashamed!

I'm sure you'll do fine

just be sure they put the correct amount in, mine has front and rear and needs 980gms the standard ones have about 550, for some reason the sticker was peeled off on mine just the tacky bit left

Hi, what do you mean by "mine has front and rear?"

Are you saying some E Classes have a/c systems that need more gas than others?

A

I ordered an Ulys one last week but it hasn't arrived yet. Getting a bit worried it won't show up in time now. How long did yours take to arrive?

I ordered in on Tuesday June 28th and it arrived on Friday July 8th - so 8 or 9 working days.

Don't forget to set your account before it comes - that takes a few days to complete.

You need to create an IBAN number. See this link

.....and where was the sticker?

And how did you work it all out?

where did you get this done and how much did it cost if you can let me know via pm?

thanks
Can’t PM you for some reason so will reply here: had mine done at CCM in the end (they’ve a few branches dotted around Surrey) think it came to about £250 (think it was £248 or thereabouts)

If you’re based in Southampton I think there is a forum sponsor based in Portsmouth I think, that actually made a thread on how to do the service - might be worth asking them for a quote:

Thanks, yeah I gave them my IBAN when creating the account. Finally got an email yesterday morning saying they were verifying the account details - 7 days after I signed up! Not looking too hopeful now.

On the other topic, I had my car re-gassed by ATS today. They seem to have done a decent job on it and apparently it was basically empty before... Certainly much colder now.

edit: On the 212 I think the AC gas detail sticker is at the front of the engine bay, on the fan shroud?

Stickers under the bonnet near the fan as mentioned above tells the type and amount of coolant/refrigerant to use, all AC systems have one, got the correct figure from my local dealer they looked it up for me as we were stuck in a workshop trying to work out how much to put in after vacuum

I thought the refrigerant quantity was the same regardless.

Up early to take my watch to the Apple store. Excellent service: online chat around midnight last night, appointment for 1035 this morning but they saw me at 0935, all being replaced for free outside of warranty.

Excellent service. Some might say that a pixel shouldn’t fail on a watch screen so soon (I’ve had it for 23 months) but issues happen, it’s how it’s dealt with that matters. First time we’ve ever had a fault with one.

Used it as an opportunity to take my car for an early drive out with my son, and a spot of breakfast and then the long way home. A beautiful morning for it, and home again before the temperatures got really silly.

Lubed doors and bonnet hinges, lubed window runners, made sure underbonnet drainage clear, lubed bonnet catches and tried to evict door mirror spiders. To no avail :( Both 211 and 246.

I gave my wheels a proper deep clean & put some wax on them.

And stuck UK stickers on the plates.

Quickly detailed the interior of one. Too hot to do the glass but resting and cooling down before doing another. Dropped in some fresh floor mats to replace the factory mats which I can’t believe they fit when new. The replacements were ridiculously expensive but a rare treat and the only way of really lifting the interior. Look fantastic too. Very pleased with them.

Now will I get round go doing another??
