What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

The car looks a bit close to the edge in pic 1
If you notice the driver's door is open? I do hope it wasn't a case of the good lady taking a picture as the unfortunate driver went to climb out and disappeared down the ravine.....

I left the drivers door open so I had something to hang on to if I slipped :)

Changed my air filters. Was going to also change the breather and turbo seals on the batwing but have had the wrong parts supplied (despite getting from the local MB dealer with reg no). Looks like a) air filters not been done in a while and b) not terribly well fitted anyways (the right, i.e. passenger side was even more mangled!)View attachment 131721
You need to change more often slim!

Had it valued against a BMW m240i on a 70 reg with only 2500 miles on the clock. Finally came to a conclusion that all BMW's look the same in and out and the brand just isn't me . So now thinking remap , ad blue and nox delete . Cue the haters

Purchase a amg.

Well got front drop link`s fro N,C, Merc , hardest part dragging big jack around side of house, lol
checked evrything while wheel`s off ,First time owned car over a year now, I noticed N/S wheelbearing bit loose so got guage out tapped cap off undo allen key turned till no play, tighten up job done ( wow that`s the easiest whealbearing ajustment I have ever done )
Did notice something odd drivers side has brake wear sensor plugged in but passenger does not, no wire might have to take inner lining off and look up back but couldnt see anything and no wires on pads ?????
I am replacing disc`s and pads on front in 6 month`s or might be less

I wouldn't bother taking the wheel arch liner off to look for the wiring for pad wear sensor, it will not be there. MB only fit one sensor these days, makes little sense to me but suppose it's all about the cost in the same way that a genuine OM646 water pump comes with two bolt holes that are not tapped, you have to tap them using the fluted M8 and M6 bolts.

Cheers I am contemplating doing water pump next year so nice to know about bolt holes.
So according to Mercedes then your drivers side brakes wear fast lol

Friday not today... :) ....put the A170 though the MOT. I gave it a good look over before the test (ex tester myself)....and spotted the tiny piece of rust on one brake pipe about two inched long that the tester mentioned last year ...but never put on the "certificate". Cleaned that up, used rust killer and resprayed grey to match the rest of the pipe with a bit of dark grey smooth Hammerite spray I had in the garage...looks like new! I also spotted a TINY bit of play in the lower NS ball joint....I said to my wife that its so slight that he'd never notice.....but it got my wife worried that it might get its first ever fail in our ownership of about five years!........It didn't......he did not mention the brake hose this year so was happy with my repair.....but to his credit did spot the ball joint and put it down as a minor!!. At least you can get the joint separately...on my car you have to get the whole arm!

The boot (SLC) swallowed a brand-new folding bike (Brompton-like) but only cost £100) from neighbour.

Went to Angouleme and back with some mates , 1200 plus faultless miles , no filters on pic..lovely..some of said mates ..
