What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Ok subject change  , So changed Front top arms, bottom arms, shocker top mount with bearing and drop links on both sides also did a oil seal thingy that PCV valve fits in
got to admit drives great no knock`s squeeks or moans from front end
cost me money and my knees have no skin on but glad I did it

For some reason the boot on my w208 decided to stop working so I spent yesterday afternoon trying to get in the boot via the back seats which was an absolute mission. Done now though, just need to empty boot so I can get to the lock!

I serviced my fathers new car even though it had been serviced about 200 miles ago. I always like to service a car when we first buy it so I know everything has been done properly.
I bought genuine parts.

Whoever designed that stupid intercooler pipe that sticks out just enough to block the fuel filter needs shooting 😡. My right forearm is nearly twice the size of the left forearm because I was trying to get my hands underneath to remove one stupid screw. Apart from that, it went smoothly

While I was at Mercedes getting the service kit for the E class, I thought I'd order oil and oil filter for my S65AMG as I've done about 1500 miles since the last service........ I know, I know, it seems a bit OTT.

The oil and oil filter were very clean as to be expected. Drove the S65 home and it made me think that maybe I'd be making a mistake to sell this car for an e92 M3? You can't help but laugh out loud when you put your foot down!

Wife had a couple of incidents of trying to accelerate - with nothing much happening, then if accelerator pedal backed off and repressed it would usually work!

A bit scary at junctions/roundabouts (and apparently upset people behind .

So trusty iCarsoft saw a pedal sensor fault. Ordered one off the Bay from a seller with good feedback, and £35 later we are back in business. If you ever need to do it, it’s a doddle, one 10mm nut pedal lifts out, squeeze tabs on top of connector and pull it off. Click on replacement, line it up and tighten the nut.

took 15mins

Can I have the old old, mine is due for a service soon :D:p:D:p

My poor car was looking a bit grubby having been on a couple of long trips last month so I set about it.

Firstly, I gave all the wheels two drenchings in Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner. Got a LOT of ingrained dirt off them. Then treated them to some Poor Boys wheel wax (couldn't use my G Techniq C5 as that needs warm dry weather to cure). Did the tyres with some Autoglym tyre gel and that was that.

Then washed the car (with Autoglym) and applied some Meguiars spray on/rinse off wax. Annoyingly, the instructions are the wrong way round. It tells you to spray it onto a wet car, rinse off and dry. Only then does it go on to say UNLESS it's the 1st application, in which case polish it into dry paint.... groan.

Oh well, it's beading (a bit) and generally looking much glossier. I'll hoover the last bits of Worcestershire out of the carpets today and I have ordered a touch up kit for the wheels to tidy them up a bit more.

I'm also on a mission to get all the grime out of my wife's fiddly Fiat 500 wheels today; will treat them to a second drenching of Bilt Hamber today and also give the car a quick wash.

It feels like spring is almost here, it's nice to spend a chunk of the day messing around outdoors.

Try Gyeon Wet Coat. Spray on to wet car, then rinse, that’s it. If you use a DI vessel for the rinse then you don’t even have to dry it, as it dries streak/spot free.

Not today but last week, replaced all four parking sensors in rear bumper of the CLS w219. No need to remove bumper. Price for 4 sensors from Mercedes 520, price for Bosch sensors via eBay, about 120, price for 4 communist party of China sensors about 20 quid total... I am amazed that they work but they do seem to perfectly.

Lovely. Matching colours too 💙

Thanks. Although, to be extremely OCD, the Fiat 500 I really should have got was the Riva as that blue is identical to my car as is the ivory leather. Hey ho it's still a great colour and has funky saddle brown leather.

My current bucket list car is an XK 5.0 Coupe and I'd love one of those in dark blue with ivory. I also have searches set for green, grey and black over ivory but the (dark) blue would be my first choice.

I'd never considered a blue cat before Biglips pointed me at my 212 but now am a convert.
