What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

I think I posted in this thread that I had had a second CTEK unit fail recently, but I can’t find it from a search. I had a CTEK MXS 5.0 fail a year or so ago after a year or two of use, and more recently I had a CTEK CT5 fail after a similar amount of use.

The first was replaced by the retailer at the time, but this one was made more complicated as CTEK gifted it to me, so there was no retailer to return it too. They replaced it without fuss, and the replacement arrived today.
My Ctek mxs5.0 recently failed, replaced it with a maypole. Seems to work well for the moment 😁

That’s outrageously good value

I’m sat at the main dealer having an A-service and combination filter performed. The same technician does all of the work on my cars and he’s just popped out and told me it’s rude health. Looking forward to the drive back as the sun is trying to shine now 👍🏻

Just spoke to the workshop controller and he said that is outrageous value and must be an error in the system.

He mentioned that combined with a service they book p.9 hours for a transmission service or 2.5 hours standalone. Bargain!

Service done and enjoyed the scenic route home. Ticked over to 43,000 miles, incredible for a car registered 17.5 years ago.

It was done in May (before I owned it) and September (by the dealer when I bought it) but I wanted to be sure it was all spot on.

ML63 M157?

A bit of fun/chance to share, and shamelessly plagiarised from the other side (currently running a c4000 posts).
If it's been done before, I couldn't find it.

Can it survive thread assassination on this side - who knows :dk:.

I'll begin:

Dropped it off for an A service/rear washer jet replacement.
Headlamp broken hit a pheasant, new part fitted at dealer quote £1283.00 apparently the units are on back order and short supply but no chance of paying that sort of cost !! So pre owned guaranteed one coming overnight from Prestige allparts Royton £475, dealer will fit and programme to car etc for around £100,

BTW Prestige only deal in breaking Mercedes spares / parts, used these guys before cracking service. 01706 849892

O/S LED Headlamp broken by a stupid pheasant, quote from dealer £1283 to fit a new one. Got a pre owned one £475. Local Merc dealer will fit it and programme to car for around £120. Headlamp to be delivered overnight from Prestige AllParts they are specialist Mercedes breakers only. Oldham 01706849892. Brilliant service guys there are second to none used them before give them a go sometime.

Took one for a topless drive around Staffordshire and Derbyshire Dales to enjoy the mostly blue skies and even some sunshine this afternoon. Unfortunately Mrs D has put her top back in now 👀😁

The roads are still muddy and strewn with debris from winter, and there’s still a lot of flooding in fields - and a surprising amount on the road - despite the rain having eased some time ago - so care was required.

Lots of spring flowers out now - and blossom on the trees - and when we got home there was a bee warming up in the sunshine on the wall of our house, and a ladybird cruising around our bedroom!

I did a 40 mile round trip to take a mate 3 miles to rugby station, took the SL and enjoyed some top down driving on the way, raining on the way back unfortunately 😭

Ashamed to say that I washed car and van today for the first time in 2024. 🙄

Just been so busy with work and life I’ve not had the chance. Good to have them gleaming again. 🥳
Just means that you’ve had more important things to do Ant. I bet they look ace 👍🏻

Spooky thing. Had the van nearly 18 months and only today whilst cleaning I noticed this on the windscreen.

Hi
Had my cl500 resprayed. Just got it back and need to replace all the trim.
Getting the door top trims wrapped as they've gone blotchy as usual.
Got a new keyless go door handle to fit too.
Looks great with the fresh paint

Today I washed off the grime from last weekends's trip to Dorset and had a go at tidying up the edges of the rims with a touch up stick. I reckon that, with the deep clean I did a couple of weeks ago and this, I might be able to defer a proper refurb for another 12 months or so.

Far from fine but fine from afar.

Having replaced the headlight bulbs on the ML and sorted the adjustment on the rear ride height sensor, decided the underside of my 2004 SLK 350 needed tidying up (rear chassis sections inboard of the bumper ends. Won't win any prizes for paintwork but tidier and protected
