So far, everyone that has seen the car, they can't believe it has a V8 engine 😄
The fuel readout would also show it in litres if you change it in the menu for km
 
I took the E280 cdi Sports Estate for its annual MOT test today.
Now at 203,000 miles.
I knew in advance that it needed a new rear tyre because of a sidewall damage.
I had dropped the other rear wheel off at the test station last week for a puncture repair.
The car passed with one advisory .... Rear brake pads close to limit.
That's a job for when the weather gets a bit warmer ... [Actually - a lot warmer].
 
The starter motor was on its way out on the C55.
I ordered a new one, put the car back together, went to start it, only click click 😔.
Took the new one out, checked it and it was a faulty starter :doh:
Lesson learned, always check the part before fitting even if it’s a new one.
Ordered another one and fitted to the car.

The other one I got is a 1.7kW so more power and it sounds so good on start up. It’s similar to the S65 AMG sound on start up :)

Not fully fitted in this photo in case someone spots the gap on top of the starter motor 😁

My OCD Sensors "Honed in" on the Gap Immediately! 🫣 🤔 :oops:
 
New front brakes for the C55 and it had the opportunity to meet the big brother ( S65 AMG )

The C class looks so small next to the S class.

This is why I love older cars, they were so different whereas now I can’t tell what’s a C class or an E class. Even the S class looks so similar to an E class!

 
A few jobs done this weekend, replaced broken handbrake shoe retaining springs.
MB Hull had them on the shelf £1.65 for 4, brilliant when a dealer has stuff on the shelf.
So no more annoying squeak which has been bugging me for the last week.
Also oil and filter change on out R56 Mini Cooper diesel, 173000 and still does 60 MPG.
A successful weekend so far.
 
I do what I often do as required, take out the front mat and shook off the little stones/pebbles off it,
(I quickly cleaned the side windows, the mirrors and the front and back lights yesterday with a cotton cloth.
