What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Well, if you insist.....

Shiny, but in 'sorta satin' way
And a 'smile' from the bonnet hiding that engine

Lovely drive top down in the sunshine to a friends house for a coffee, sausage sandwich and a chat.
And few empty stretches of A and B roads to create some noise (and then onto to B&Q and Screwfix to pick up a couple of orders - busy boy!)

Oooh, you gotta love a satin/matte convertible.

Cleaned out all the crude that gathers in some of the water run-off drains points on the E class.

At the bottom corners of the rear screen.

The scuttle panel under the windscreen.

The top of the front wings where the bonnet hinges are mounted, utterly full of filth!

Waiting for some more time to do a proper exterior decon and wheels off and in the bath job.

I've never had a car that collected so much detritus in the wiper arms/trailing bonnet edge area as my 212. Moss from my roof, leaves, bits of litter....its like a crap magnet. Never had that issue on other cars.

Beaten to it by a faster typer!

Must be a Merc thing; my 204 was awful for the scuttle drains filling up. A particularly rubbish design when you consider that when they got blocked the only place for the water to go was over the under-bonnet fusebox.
Woe betide anyone who ran one of those cars with the fusebox cover missing.

The scuttle drains in my wife's Fiat 500 are renowned for blocking. You find out when you give it the beans and it dumps a load of water on your feet.

I freed up the blockages at both sides but also broke up the rubber grommet things so will now have to remove the wipers and scuttle cover to replace them. Great piece of design...

I’m surprised that drain locations are not made more clear to enable regular cleaning. I’m also surprised that it’s not part of the service. I try to remember to ask for mine to be cleared when I take it in but I often forget.

Removed my door and sill vinyls , starting to peel in places. Tomorrow it's tyres and tpms on my new glc43 alloys . I might even put them on this week. ??
