Who owns a registration?

My direct experience is that you cannot .

Another poster who had also tried it said the same thing .

The rules on the enquiry form say the same .

The LAW ( data protection act ) says the same .

Do you have an actual example to refute this , or are you just giving opinion ?

The laws regarding privacy of personal information exist for good reason .

In addition - I'm happy for the OP that he seems to have found what he was looking for by lawful means .

Yep didn't hear anything back yesterday so see what Monday brings! Thanks again

Using publically accessible data checks: L18 ONG doesn't show as being on a car. This could suggest that it's just on a retention certificate - although data can take time to update L20 ONG shows as being on a Silver Vauxhal Vivaro From your username - I assume you have the 2009 Silver C200 CDI ;) Hope this helps.

Out of curiousity what is L3 ONG on?

1994 landcruiser

Why.

What does it spell or mean or do you own a head shop?

I was wondering that too .

However it is lost on me , I'm sure it means something to the OP .

So what if they did? Another poster also disagreed.

Best to repect our difference of opinions I think on this one.

If you feel that you need to have the last word, I grant you my blessing........

As stated above , and if you read through the link , such requests can only be made under strictly defined circumstances .

I have used this site and obtained details I required with no problems

pontoneer

Maybe the real world is where you need to look if you ask D.V.L.A will supply details at a nominal fee ;)

To sum it up...

In theory you can't get the registered keeper's details from the DVLA simply because you want to buy the plate.

In reality you have a good chance of blagging it from them.

The reprecautions if caught range from nothing at all to a criminal record.

Is this about right? :D

Just waiting on reg transfers to get back to me. I would just be honest with the dvla and tell them I wanted to buy it from them but under those circumstances I can't see them giving out the info.

So did they come back to you? Have you bought the plate or are you now going to search for L3 ONG?

I would recommended getting the 18 one if it means something to you, having a consecutive plate is quite nice...

let's face it, if you spend this much time & effort worrying about ****ing license plates there's something wrong with you.

Hi buddy

3 seems to be my number so I'd love 3 but a sequence would be good too.

Yes they came back to me and I am negotiating on the price so fingers crossed!

My surname is Long so hopefully that shows why.

Just a heads up.......

Private plates can reduce your insurance premium.

Also I have got registration details from DVLA tracing vehicle owners, the Police will also give you the V5C keepers address if there's a good enough reason for free.

Been there done that too :)
