So to sum that up. This thread is a diesel witch hunt, not about highlighting the worst poisons coming out of combustion engines and looking to do something about it.

Yes the S Class will be new however, it will have to remain as a diesel as it's the most popular engine for it worldwide ( strange that isn't it, I mean how stupid can the manufacturer and the customers be ) I suggest dark grey with a tan interior.Typical hearing all the diesel lovers continuing to defend their choices with totally ridiculous statements. That's what desperation does. A shame that none of them came up with a single convincing argument other than the possible effects on their own pennies. Accusing me of not listening to their arguments was the funniest of all; what arguments? Other than a couple of early sensible responses from diesel owners, all I heard was denial, denial, denial.
But I'll accept your very kind offer of a S350 CDi and fuel card, assuming it's a brand new S-class. Thank you. But please let me chose the colours, you've made me doubt your abilities to chose correctly. Shouldn't cost too much to rip out the box of nails and replace it with a real engine![]()
All cars should be banned from the roads , in 2014 about 1,775 people were killed and over 22,000 were seriously injured on UK roads. We should all buy a bicycle to travel to work , no more pollution or traffic jams and we'd all be super fit.
Only drawback being that over 3500 cyclists were killed or seriously injured in the same year out of the estimated 2 million people who cycle daily. So if we ban the 30 million cars on the road and we all get on our bikes that'll mean another 52,000 cyclists killed or injured . So doing the maths - that's almost double the number of deaths and serious injury. This will obviously place an enormous strain on the already stretched NHS.
I could go on but it's all "lies damn lies and blooby statistics".![]()

Is diesel really the most popular engine for the S-class worldwide? I'll confess I was surprised to read this, so out of interest I tried to find out by how much it was the most popular. I couldn't find any worldwide figures (presumably you can or you wouldn't have said this) so I had to look at individual country sales. China is now the biggest market for the S-class ( 1/5 of all Mercedes sales) but they don't have a diesel version. Oops. OK, let's try the second largest - USA. Oh, still no new diesel S-classes. Not any point in continuing with the search after those. I await your evidence.HB said:Yes the S Class will be new however, it will have to remain as a diesel as it's the most popular engine for it worldwide ( strange that isn't it, I mean how stupid can the manufacturer and the customers be ) I suggest dark grey with a tan interior. I've never actually checked how much spew comes out of the E63. Can anyone help ?
Popular choice elected Trump.
Sorry my sincere apologies, I meant to say European wide.Is diesel really the most popular engine for the S-class worldwide? But even if, by some strange quirk, diesels are the most popular S-class, that doesn't mean they're the best. Popular choice elected Trump. Popular choice is McDonalds. Keep trying.
Op son, you drive your car, we'll drive ours. How about that? If you really gave a ****e about the environment you'd be in a hybrid so you really can't claim the moral high ground.
Apologies accepted. More gullible punters in Europe to fall for all the hype presumably. After all, if Mercedes thought that diesel s-classes were so good, wouldn't they have at least offered them for sale in China and the USA? Not a serious question, they'll only try to sell what they think people will want to buy.HB said:Sorry my sincere apologies, I meant to say European wide.
