Why do some AMG owners drive like knobs?

No... I'm Spartacus.

Split personality manifesting itself again, eh? You weren't yesterday...

Or if it's multiple personality disorder, are you Timmy Mallet today as well?

What does Vancouver Police Department have to do with it?

Most ironical thread of the year...so far. :D

I think surreal is now a more apt description. I'm rather enjoying it, though.

Well I'm pretty new to driving an AMG and I've actually found the effect somewhat calming of my driving. By having lots of power under my right foot I feel less inclined to use it and just keep it in reserver.

I suspect as car lovers we noticed when a 'sporty' model of a car is being driven by a complete tool so I guess it's almost easier to spot a muppet in an AMG revving the knackers off it. I suppose it's the showing off element of it that makes it stand out.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure 99.99% of the idiots I see driving on the road are in various different cars. There is a bit of a 'get out of my way' attitude from some of the big German car drivers but similarly I see white van and pickup drivers as significantly more aggressive.

This ^

This is what it's all about, IMHO.

(Except once in a rare while, whilst nobody's looking ;))

I totally agree that most performance manufacturers have their version of Knobbery.

Yes, they think it's cool, and yet I've NEVER seen anyone witnessing this behaviour and hearing them saying "OMG he/she is sooooooooo cool"

There's times and places to enjoy the power. Cities and villages are not the place. Empty country roads are a safer place. I fear for children in the cities.

Don't think country roads are a safer place at all, as 60% of all fatalities occur on them.

OK, it wasn't the best joke ever.

You might want to Google what an athlete does with a discus.

Sorry, missed it. It was late on, and I was tired. Not "tired and emotional", just tired...

I was referring to innocent people being involved. If a boy racer wants to wrap himself around a tree then I'd prefer My 10 year old daughter to not get in his way.

Ant.

Understood and agreed, in an ideal world no one would die before their time.
