£4k to spend what would you buy?

"The World is your oyster". Name the group.

Hmmm. My dads had a Belingo for 11 years. Never a days problem!!!!! On the back if Jeremy Clarkson review in Top Gear.

Welllll....

An estate for bikes, and stuff..... Hmmmm. I'll ponder!!!!!!

Would consider Volvo S80...if you prefer a bit smaller then there's the S60, lots for under £4k petrol & diesel...

Volvo S80 2.4 D5 SE 4dr Auto

If you want something more upmarket how about a aluminium jag XJ, again quite a few for under your budget...

Jaguar XJ XJ6 3.0 V6 SE 4dr Auto

I'd get a MkV11 accord 2.4. Super reliable and a bit more space. Quite pokey.

a 3.0i XM What drugs are you on! I've had three XM V6's and I wouldn't be driving 12K a year in a +14yr old XM :)

A 3.0i C6 (if you can find one) isn't a bad shout.

V70 , apart from my current vehicle it was the best car I ever owned .

Actually yes a V70. An R for power!!!

Loved mine. 4 wheel drive gets you anywhere. Very safe with grand children.

+1 If your in the market for a reliable comfy safe estate, you wont beat the V70:thumb:..loads for sale under your budget:D

W220 or W211

OK thanks to SPX my BIL is now looking at W211 E500 I'm pretty familiar with these so know what to look for, but he is also looking at W220 S430 & S500 now apart from rust and the air suspension issues I don't know a lot about these so all advice and ownership experiences greatly recived

TIA

Jag X Class V6 Estate nice to drive and cheap to buy

Ian

Had 39k miles and 39 months in my W220.

Will answer any of your questions - hopefully over some fine food on Wednesday ;)

OK it has to be a Merc

OK so BIL has decided its going to be a MB, Front runner is SPX choice of E500 but they not exactly in abundant supply, so what else would you consider MB wise :dk:

I've been running a W211 for the last 2 months and its very competent.

Done a few 300+ mile trips and like it a lot.

Doesn't feel so great around town though, it grips me to say it, but a smaller engine would feel less cumbersome around town. The 320 feels very nose-heavy when not travelling at speed.
