1999 C43 AMG Salvage Repairable CAT D

Damn, times like this I wish I had spare cash ;) If you guys buy it, promise to let me have a go in it one day! :D

I have heard of people who are putting stolen foriegn number plates on cars, so they cannot be traced by speed camera's and rfl camera's. etc. So it would seem logical to fit these to a stolen car.

I think they might actually be Romanian plates, spotted one today after I left Olly's, it had the same prefix and looked identical.

How can we organise this?

Anyone have any ideas?

Ten forum members put in £1000 each. This provides enough of a kitty to buy it, fix it, strip out the interior, put in a roll cage and race seat, buy a trailer, slicks etc..

The car could be kept at Black C55's place in exchange for some free signwritten advertising.

Arrange track days and RWYB days. Have a laugh with 500bhp and 1200kgs.

Sell car on e-bay after a pre-determined time, say, two years. Split money ten ways.

Picture 8 - it seems to have a new style key hanging from the steering wheel ?
Could this indicate some parts transfered from a W211 - or just a new key ?

It probably has the wiring loom, ignition switch, engine control unit, selector module and maybe the central gateway.....

Is it possible the whole thing is a W211 transplant? Got me wondering seeing as the enigne looks nothing like any of the C Class AMG's, but very like the w211...

It is not a C55 engine. It IS a 55k engine from a 211, 215 or a 230

Maybe 220 S-class also?

I'm still itching to see where this car surfaces! :)

A w202 C-class with a bomb under the bonnet...

Simply amazing.

I imagine Olly could get it started ;)

It must have run at one time in order to be crashed ....

i must admit i was\am very tempted, but the cost of any one of those control units not running properly would be a nightmare to sort out cost wise!

Like I said, I saw the car @ £3500, me and Nav were going to go 50/50 on it, but its the cost of these modules that would cost a small fortune. Not to mention the repair of any wiring.

They are all available and you have a friend with a garage....

It is a problem with Universal Salvage. The staff and customers have a habit of pinching anything of value from the auctioned cars. I'd be very surprised if it still has the spare wheel, stereo, toolkit, jack etc. Electronic modules are also favourite to be pinched.
Even if it costs a couple of grand to sort out it would make one hell of a track day car :bannana:
