All C43 AMG owners - What shall I do?

Next Q is how tricky is it to get MB to tyre swap?

Does it require the haste of booking in, starting a convs and threatening rejection? Or will they just fess up and sort it

I was lucky enough to organise a deal with Mercedes to get winter tyres fitted to the car as standard when picking it up in December, along with some summer tyres free of charge. The deal was on a C63 coupe.

Seems like MB are now offering to fit All Season tyres so perhaps no need for both Winter/Summer mix but guess some people feel that the AS's are not sufficient compromise on a performance car....

It would appear that not all MB dealerships are singing from the same hymn sheet on this and even the few dealers who are probably following this thread have not commented on it..... Ridiculous situation really.

Incidentally is the thread depth the same on your new tyres compared to the original Conti's?:thumb:
Tread depth on new tyres is 7mm and on original it's 6mm (but they had done 2000 miles so suspect they were 7mm originally)

Not sure if that is totally correct. The new ones fitted on mine are a summer tyre and the problem appears to have disappeared.
OK got it. Hopefully will find out today what tyres they will fit to mine....:thumb:

It's OK, how's your council house?

Wow, I must have hit a nerve.... Don't expect me to respond to that in any nasty way as your 'chosen' words have put you on a very, very low pedestal all by yourself.

How did you get your dealer to change your your tyres foc? How many miles have you done?
I suggest you contact the dealer you bought it from or your local dealer if that's more convenient and ask them and see what their response is. Let me know how you get on. I've covered around 10k miles:thumb:

Not sure that you can get all weathers to fit the C63, I did look at that option but couldn’t find any. It’s law to have Winter tyres in Germany in certain temperatures so I had no choice but to find a fast compromise. I am also aware the crabbing will be alot worse on the AWD 43. All good on this so far so fingers crossed it’s not an issue in the future.

Me neither, but from what I have now established from my dealer is that they are fitting Continental SSR Runflats to address this issue on the C43's and from earlier posts it appears to do the trick. Again from owners who have already had their tyres changed they are actually summer tyres and not all season so assume the design/compound/runflat characteristics of this tyre appears to sufficiently mask the crabbining issue. If this is true then perhaps MB should have fitted these as stock tyres and then we wouldn't have had pages of forum related posts, LOL:thumb:

Took car to dealer. Tech listened to my explanation and immediately advised that tyre was not correct (contisport 5P).

They are contacted MB and will call when correct tyres arrive for a swap

Also advised that I get to keep the old ones.

I didn’t even have to demonstrate the issue. They immediately knew.
