Is anyone else going to pop along after remap out of interest?
Oh dear money for old rope for Angel I suspect and a lot of people doing the old imagining thing on the journey home. Fact is to go faster you use more fuel. You may get the same speed at a less throttle opening but that's about it. Remember two chip experiences where I could actually take it out and put the original back- in the cold light of day i couldn't even tell which was installed! Doubtless I'll be unpopular but there it is.
Not unpopular I'd say, though this particular thread is focused on bookings for the remap day and general questions surrounding it.
If you've a particular point to make maybe a new thread would have been clearer

Nigel very helpful but timing all wrong as have to be elsewhere Sat pm.

Are you suggesting that the remap won't yield any bhp increase? If so, I'm sure we could all sue Angel under sale of goods act or similar...
I am under the impression that there will be an increase and my driving experience will be enhanced by a more efficient running engine. Is this not correct?

The driving experience will be enhanced - I wouldnt sweat it and don't forget we have a 14 day cooling off period.
If we are not happy with the result we tell Nigel and he gets the ecu back to normal free of charge - the guy can't be fairer than that, apart from giving it away for free...!!!
As long as people are realistic with regards to what they are expecting after the remap I think everyone will be ok - remember it's a remap not a turbo or supercharger install.

That's what I thought. I think it will make my car better. If nothing else I will at least know my air filters are now good..LOL

With 500 bhp + an extra 20 or so realistic is the word.
All I am saying is that from my experience with chips, you get into the car and IMAGINE on the run home that it is in some way faster and more responsive! After a few days you're pushed to tell the difference and remember that I was able to put back the original chip whenever I wanted. I really couldn't tell any difference despite initially feeling there was one. Certainly not worth the £300 or so they cost.Hopefully I'm wrong but every chip I have bought (apart from the Bluefin for a mini) has been a disappointment. Yes you'll be given a printout of the extra BHP and torque no doubt .
Turbos are the best to modify as you can really feel that.

stick it in 3rd gear, 30mph floor it to 50mph..... count how long it takes....... then do the same after the remap. you will see a difference. If you dont get your money back. thats what I will be doing.
I personally have found remaps to be VERY good! chips are rubbish.... At the volvo meets the s60 D5 vs remap D5 was astonishing. It would keep up with T5 petrols as well!

Damn and Blast........
The person that arranged my "prior commitments" on Saturday has this morning decided to cancel
Therefore, I could be available after all. If someone could give me a heads-up on the current attendees (looks like 19 reading above), I'll give Nigel a quick call to do the payment bit. I'm not overly concerned about the time slot, although I'd prefer to be fitted in earlier rather than later.
PS: I've had zilch response to my parallel thread about arranging a second day with Angel. Doesn't seem to be much more interest at this stage. Maybe there a few who are awaiting the feedback from this Saturday's session!

I think there are a couple of slots available, i due to engine failure(I think BaldGuy has an issue with oil being bumped onto the road...) and 1 spare....
