Question for fellow drivers:
Does your % El Power show a number other than 0?
By that I mean in the e drive/charge readout beneath the rev counter?
Mine just shows 0 the whole time?

Which screen is displaying, Eco or what ?

Any of them. I read the manual and the % El Power is ignored- looks like it's been left.
Bizarre!

Anyway.
This is a car of two personalities.
In Comfort, it's light to steer, comfortable, economical, quiet. Very nice for buzzing about.

Put it into Sport, and it's a different car. Steering tightens up, suspension firms, engine fires to life- the torque coming out of corners is phenomenal.
The brakes are also very sharp when you call them in your hour of need (the front discs/calipers ARE massive!).

It's quite addictive.
Have your rush, flick back into comfort, and cruise silently home... lots of fun!

Interesting to note, that it has 600nm of torque. This is only 50 less than a V8 engined C63!
And, that torque is available from 1200 rpm. Tremendous. Floor it, and it just goes, straight away.

Thanks for that, I will just soldier on with Comfort and take your word for the perceived exhilaration of other modes :D

Your right famous grouse, it is addictive!!

I keep trying to just stay in comfort but now I know what S+ does I am often tempted!! On saying that though, I now also find myself staying in Eco E mode on the small trips from my house and trying to make sure the engine doesn't kick in!!

I do find the braking aggressive in S+ but if you manually shift down it seems to help.

Will never be able to compare a decent MPG run with S+ temptation!!

MBrummm - What do you want pics of and I will upload some

Did my first commute this morning.
One overtake and a couple of hills to contend (so a little bit of petrol burned), but on arrival showed 99.9mpg (As high as it goes!), and 64% battery remaining.

So for me, the electric range works!

I've found the occasional, I guess lurch- when braking. Doesn't always happen, but sometimes you can feel it doing something that's not entirely smooth. Happened a few times, isn't anything dangerous- just feels a little odd!

Is the lurch you describe occurring when the disc brakes are applied or before when using the "electric" brake ?

I too am seeing the 99.9 mpg :D

So the way I understand it is 0 marks the centre point and then the green bars up the right move up depending on charge i.e. braking coasting down hill and then go back to 0 and likewise on the left the electric lights move up when you are in electric mode and using up the amount of electric available and if pushed the engine engages. the 0 marks neutral as far as i read it.

Got this notice today on mine!!

I agree with your analysis of the indicator bars. Green is good, watch it fill up on braking often to the top. On overrun, coasting, one or two green bars and when electric power is being consumed the white bars to the left fill up, mostly just two or three. I have seen the occasional Red bar, top left but not for long.

You're obviously gentle with your right foot ;)

OK- glad I'm not the only one with the big fat zero. The reason I mentioned it was this:
https://mbnetworknews.co.uk/Portals...ttachment 1 - C 350 e Sport Product Guide.pdf
Read page 17 and you'll see why.

Obviously something has changed since that was published, as in the cars manual- there's no mention of that 0 being a readout at all.

It is what it is, no problem as such (though it would've made sense to be there honestly!)

The temperature read out (or lack of) is more annoying though.

One of the things I've not seen the chosen few comment on is the haptic pedal?

How does that work in reality?

Not sure I've ever felt it?!
I don't have distronic which I think is key to it's most effective use however.

I think the starting point is setting the car in E mode, a thing I haven't yet done.

Doesn't sound as if the pedal is fundamental then although it gets a lot of coverage in the marketing blurb.

How about brake lights when you are regenerative breaking?

Do they illuminate?

Also one of the things I love about the CLS is the hold function when you sort of double press the brake pedal when stationary, presume that's the same in the C350e?

If you are in E Mode then you feel real resistance (far more than a conventional kick down) when you want more shove which will require the engine to kick in. It makes it a real concerted effort. When I use Distronic I have no feel from the peddle, haptic or not, as I don't have my foot on the peddle at all !

I think Distronic helps with the regeneration, as when it senses the car in front braking it breaks quite harshly to aid regen and then coasts.

I flicked the haptic function on in comfort mode from memory- but maybe I didn't... I'll head off in Eco mode tomorrow and see what I notice.

Quonker- it does have a Hold function. Good function that one, missed it when I had the BMW.

Famous - it's E Mode not Eco. Eco is driving style whereas E Drive is selected in power source from Hybrid, E Save, E Mode & E Charge (apologies but thought those awaiting their cars may not appreciate what I was whittering on about).

Aha- thanks, honestly I've been having more fun cranking the buttons the other way for max performance! The rest of the time been leaving it in comfort.
I'll play with that this evening.

Interestingly, I flicked into Eco mode this morning- noticed the car seems to coast a lot more than even in Comfort. There's a discernible engine braking in Comfort that I couldn't feel in Eco.

Heading out this morning and jumping in the car with it pre warmed, and the heated seats already on(!) was really lovely. As it gets colder that'll only make me happier, nothing worse than shivering behind the wheel waiting for the cabin to warm up!

Mine doesn't come until Jan. What is the "hold mode" that you speak about? Is it the handbrake?
