C350e owners club

Any Golfers out there?? I have a C350e estate on order. I was wondering how you get on with golf clubs in the boot. I have a C220D Saloon currently and can easily fit 2 sets in across the boot opening without having to remove any woods. I tried my clubs in a saloon C350E I test drove prior to ordering and it was nowhere near as good as my current car. Hence the reason I have ordered the estate. The pics I have seen online looks as though the C350e estate boot has the obvious risen floor but also is a little narrower than the boot in the other C Class estates. Panicing a bit now.......

Any input or pics of your clubs in the boot would set my mind at ease.

Thanks in advance.

Joe

Hi Joe,

Not great news from me on this, but better that you know sooner rather than later...

The width of the boot is even a little tight for my irons. I need to remove my woods and lay them diagonally across the bags (they won't fit parallel to the back seats). The only good news is that they do fit - just. I'll see if I can get you a picture over the weekend.

My order has gone in!!!!

C350e saloon in White with black leather interior. Sadly our company car scheme wouldn't run to the cost of PP, but thats fine. The one I borrowed from the local dealer was a bog-standard car and it was more than acceptable in terms of toys, buttons to push and levers to pull.

Should be with me mid-October.

Thanks Dodgy,

Thats not great news, but as you say its better that I know and prepare for the worst. My clubs actually did fit into the C350e saloon I test drove - near the opening parallel to the rear seats without having to remove any of my clubs. To accomodate my driver I did have to remove the cover to the left which I think is there to store the cables?? I wonder why the estate is much more narrow than the opening on the Saloon?? Are there any similar covers that can be removed on either side of the estate to create a bit more width?. I currently leave my clubs in my C Class saloon all the time and still have space for a bit of shopping and my gear for work. Seems weird that I am moving to an estate and its potentially less practical :wallbash::doh:

Thanks
Joe

There are removable cubbyhole covers on both sides. One of them is quite large.

My other car is a Ford S-Max. I'm pretty sure I can fit the whole Merc in it's boot...

We have just ordered three C350e company cars. 2 Estates and 1 saloon. We have been informed that the saloon is a month longer in lead time as its manufactured in South Africa whereas the estates are manufactured in Germany. Estates are due mid to late September.

:)

Thats some good news then. This might just allow me to get the bag in with all clubs in it. Good to know for weekends away that I can fit some overnight bags in and my clubs.

Is there a reason that you don't adopt the club heads in a cubby hole technique?

Thanks again Dodgy. :thumb:

Had mine delivered yesterday
1st thoughts
1 wish seat went lower (im 6'3)
2 would like more room for left leg
3 braking from 20 to standstill is very grabby (bedding in I guess)
4 steering is odd at first i guess, round tighter slower corners i had to keep correcting stering input
5 its quick
6 Pics in ebrochure dont show with trackpad but mine has it
7 also has a chrome trim sill line which hadnt noticed either
8 And there is no button to release on the charger handle as per quick guide, you have to unliock with press of main key ( yea i shold have looked closer to start with :) )
I'll update as we go

Hopefully it's just that typical - getting used to your new surroundings. I have had that feeling with every new car I have had. I'm still waiting on my C350e landing with me but I do have a C220d just now. I'm 6ft and the left leg space is ok for me. The brakes have electronic interference due to the regenerative process, might be better in other driving modes. You will get used to the electronic steering, I have in my current car but you will find there is more feel in sports + mode.
What car are you coming from?

Hi,

I'm 6ft and there's a good 5 inches of space above my head when the seat is on the floor. It feels pretty low...

Yes - the switch from regenerative breaking and friction breaking is tricky. I think it improves and I've got used to it.

The steering isn't to BMW standards. It seems OK when the steering and suspension are both in sport setting.

Hope you enjoy it!

Can somebody confirm if this video is accurate? At around 2mins 20 secs the guy opens the flap on the first part of the risen floor and this is where the charging cables are stored. I have one on order but it was a saloon I test drove. The cables in the saloon I drove were stuffed in a side cubby. The images I have seen of the estate look as though the floor doesn't open in the same way.

Hopefully there is a place to conceal the cables as they look quite bulky.

Thanks in advance.

At last!

Hi, what a car (so far). Just running in. Thanks to DDB North Shields for the new car detailing and to all on here for the photos and advice. Unfortunately the dealer employee was, well let's not go into that. DDB corrected the problem.
Collected on Monday and I need a computer expert to help!
Advice please, which is the best public charging company.
Thanks.

There is a compartment under the floor of the estate. I'm not sure mine is as deep as the one in the video as I don't use it. My charger and cables are in my garage. I'm not signed up to any public charging schemes and I try not to go to IKEA, so the chances of me needing them when I am away from home are slim. The compartment on the left of the boot is surprisingly big so your cables will easily go in there if you prefer.

Golf clubs squeezed in for @Joseg. Note the vintage 3-wood.

Maximising boot space wasn't high on the priorities when they designed this car!

Thanks Dodgy,
That is pants compared to my current c class saloon!! Still hoping I can get my clubs in parallel to the backseat if I remove the large cubby cover on the left and stick the heads in there. Very useful.

Cheers

Joe

Is it possible to replace the km/h on the bottom left of the screen between t h e Speedo and rev counter with the external temperature?

400 miles so far and very impressed

I think you'd have to hack the operating system. Someone said MB think it's a legal requirement to have that kmh display. Bonkers.

Hi

Hi, so I'm driving along 20-30 and the car in front brakes as normal. I brake but the car slows before my foot lands on the pedal. Is this active braking? On the dash I can bring up the bonnet of the car? Around the rear view mirror are a couple of sensors and the housing looks bigger than older cars.
Any info please.
