C350e owners club

Mercedes-Benz Norway say that Mercedes Me will be available in Norway late February! But they say it will only be available on cars produced in December 2015 and later. I got my C350e in November, and when I asked if that means that Mercedes Me will NOT be available for me, the reply was "Yes"!
Is this really true? When I bought the car the dealer promised that it would be available in the beginning of 2016.

As I have understood it.
Needs the following packages
05U Remote Online
06U com module
350 Mercedes-Benz emergency call system

I suspect your car have all this.

Yes, they have put it in for us but why not replace the useless eu km/h with it instead of grey on grey.

If, like me you like to down the brightness when driving, temperature is almost invisible but as least I can see how many km/h I am doing, whoop!

By the way, I've been told today by my lease company, not by MB, by lease company, that there is a shipment of parts coming into the MB UK warehouse before the end of this week. This will then be distributed around dealerships next week. Once they receive it, heater booster will be fitted and car returned so should have it back after 3.5 to 4 weeks. MB don't want to talk to me direct about it because they do not see me as the customer because the car is owned by the lease company.....I am just the company car end user who puts the petrol in and pays the tax....strange that ! I just hope they have sorted the high voltage short circuit out that caused them to recover it in the first place.

Mine has been back at the dealer for nearly two weeks. MB have confirmed charger unit had water ingress and there is nil stock here and Germany but expect new unit and wiring loom to arrive soon. They also said there was another 350e in the workshop with the same problem. Considering how rare these cars are it must be a pretty serious problem as there are more laid up than driving around ;)

Identical to me also. Perhaps a market opportunity for a tiny tent to erect over the port?!

Well it was freezing this morning. 100% charged overnight but by the time I preheated it was 88% when I set off showing only 12 miles range. Using e save on some bits I'm showing 8 miles left to get back home which I may just make. 38mpg this morning so overall hoping for 50. I am disappointed by the electric range but I think the cold is linked to that . I have now idea how people are getting over 50 mpg on a 23 mile run !

Whoa! the km/h display is in constant use during those trips to fill up with wine in France and Spain. But your Username does sort of explain your point of view..!

I did 150 miles on Tuesday in one hit and got 45mpg cruising on motorways at 70. Started with full charge of 15.miles. I don't think that is too shabby.

Quick Question!

I have had my C350e for the past month now and how do I stop the "Speed Sign" showing on the dashboard when you enter the zone, it at first was useful, but now annoying particularly as it sits there for a few seconds - especially as those pesky speed cameras tend to be there at that point of speed change, so Im watching my speed as I enter a 30 for example as I like the digital display, then speed camera is there but I can no longer see my MPH (other than the dial thats obscured by the wheel) so having to tap OK all the time so blind on what the speed is - does that make sense!

I think its in the menus on the small screen from memory

So just under 3 weeks in and 2500 miles completed, my initially thoughts are:

1) Electric range indicated at start is a work of fiction. Best to date is 16 miles range achieving 10 miles actual
2) I love pre heat. Watching the wife scrape her car while I sit inside with a cuppa is beyond smug.
3) Long trip averages are going to be 36-40mpg.....which is fine for me, never expected any more.
4) small tank is becoming a pain. Too many packs of revels are being purchased and consumed.
5) I never knew tyres and wind noise were so loud. Wind noise by my right ear is particularly annoying in an otherwise very quiet car
6) it is fast, but it is no sports touring. The weight is very obvious when pressing on.

So far it is all I expected, wanted and working well, love it.

Discussed this issue with my Salesman today. His Dealership has not had this problem yet (but they haven't sold many of these cars yet). He had heard of similar problems and suggested that the water ingress could be the result of pressure washing during PDI. A bad practice he thought.

But an alternative could be that MB subcontracts the manufacture of these components to other firms who stockpile them in poor conditions for delivery to the MB factory "just in time".

Whatever it is, it needs sorting. No change to my dates; build on 18th February. At the port on 31st March. In my hands about 10th April.

Same for me, a bit annoying if your working on radio or songs and poff the speed sign comes up. I’ve got hat information in the HUD already.
But then again, in the big picture its just a nag.

Update on my charging problem.
Identified as corroded cable due to water ingress in socket. Cable on order but nil stock in UK or Germany... 2-3wk estimate :(

Sounds like yours jp350e
Sounds very familiar! I hope you don't have to wait that long..

Sounds like a major design flaw with the car!!

Why so long between build date and port date?

Why so long between build date and port date?

Sorry for the sloppy post. I should have given 18 February as the "specification freeze" date. I think the actual build date is about four weeks later - it takes them that long to get all the bits together and to schedule it into the work flow(?!). Then it's a few days to actually put the bits together and for the sealants/paints etc to dry and harden. I kept hoping that it would be early but it seems to be unlikely.

Mine completed build on 5th Feb but won't be at the dealers until 23rd .... can't understand why it would take to long.

I haven't got any dates re @ port as each time I've asked for an update they seem ****** off I'm asking so given up and just waiting now ...

Ok so 2 months in and 3300 miles on the clock, mostly spent in comfort/hybrid with the occasional charge via plugin or drive/save mostly to allow preheat on the cold mornings.

Today I found myself 14 miles from home with 14 electric miles on the clock having charged whilst out shopping to avoid parking charge so I decided to experiment, could I make it home on pure electric or how close could I get?

So Switched to Eco&electric only mode - journey home was all A road with no major hills so figured the inclines&declines would balance the usage out. With A very feather light foot, a/c off and heater on minimum setting, floating along in mid 50's with plenty of anticipation and minimal breaking did we make it?

Of course we didn't not even close 6 miles from home and the electric miles had gone to zero on the display, switching the display showed 20% battery left so still we coasted along in electric until the battery reached 12% and then 4.8miles from home the emode cut out completely and switched itself to hybrid.

And so the moral of the story is? My 2 possibles, feel free to add yours

1stly - saddo get a life - that one's from the Mrs.
2ndly - perhaps Mercedes got their miles and Km's mixed up so for elctric range view it as Km's and it might be closer to reality.

My conclusion is that it doesn't even out - uphill costs more range than downhill recuperates. I got 15 miles electric from 16 claimed, by using the electric on downhill and flat sections and putting the car in e-save for the uphill bits. There was a little sailing but not much, and anyway I'm wondering if the range calculation assumes some sailing.

Hills make a big difference and I am thinking temperature does also. 2 scenarios this week both on a full charge and car heated up using preheat. Car in E-mode.

Home-school-office (7 miles including several hills one of which is very steep) - I get to the office with no miles remaining and showing 30%ish charge.

Manchester City Centre-Home (14 miles quite flat with mixture of 20-30-40-50-Motorway) - driving very carefully, judging traffic flow etc, I made it all the way on electric only save a few hundred yards towards the end when it flipped back into hybrid and he engine fired up briefly a couple of times. Impressive I thought.

Overall since Rolec installation on Monday I am showing 154 miles completed @ 88mpg.

I am hoping the battery improves as we head into spring/summer as I really love this car but had based my 'business case' on a better electric range. I was thinking of replacing my 2014 5-series with either the new E350e or the GLC350e but maybe the battery technology needs to move on a little more first....
