C350e owners club

I see you have owned a Porsche and you're still alive so drifting out of a roundabout will be a piece of cake for you!

The wonders of a modern 4WD drive 911 turbo have saved me from a barrier on more than one occasion !

NEW QUESTION - I was completely stationery the other day (I travel a lot on the M25!!) so I thought I would look at the internet on the screen. I went through the phone/internet menu and put in a www. address but got a message that the service was temporarily unavailable.
I assume it is all done through your Bluetooth linked phone. I checked that the phone was connected (it was) but the screen display showed it as 'off-line'.
Has anyone found a way of connecting to the internet?
Thanks

Are you on 02? If so it won't work. It is a problem with MB and O2

Hi guys, very lucky indeed to of placed an order last week , to get a cancelled order that will be delivered by end of March!!
I have read through lots of treads re the car recently and know quite a lot, but what isn't clear to me is when the car is in full Electric mode, does it produce the full 290 odd hp and the same performance as you get in hybrid, or does it reduce the power available?

In pure electric mode you only get the power of the electric motor, which is 79hp. This is adequate for round town stuff and for maintaining lower speeds on motorways and dual carriageways.

To get the full 280hp it needs to be in hybrid mode in sport or sport+ mode and then it's like KERS on an F1 car, with the electric motor boosting the petrol engine. It definitely shifts in that mode! :D

Pre delivery checks and updates

Before you take delivery, make sure it has had the software update for external temperature display. Dave's you taking it back....make sure your charge cable is the latest upgraded sealed weatherproof plug and rear socket. Make sure the heater booster problem has been eradicated. Make sure you ask about any reported high voltage short circuit problems and corrective action having been carried out. Mine has been in the garage for 3 weeks and found out today it won't be back till 26th Feb....that's 4 and a half weeks of software updates, problem diagnosis and waiting for parts from Germany. Apparently, new charge cables in stock this week and heater boosters next week....nightmare...if I could cancel I would...

Can I add my condolences for the painful process you are clearly suffering. Given the building excitement for my pending delivery I've read your updates with great concern and I can well imagine how hacked off I will be if my new toy turns out to be defective.

You make a great point for people such as me a few weeks from delivery as to what to check for. The temp gauge is clear cut - it's there or it isn't. I expect to tell me dealer not to bother sending me the car without this fixed as I won't accept it. I'm guessing that the heater booster is a standard C series component, not special for the C350E? Presumably, therefore, this was either blown by your electrical issues or you are extremely unlucky to have two unrelated problems, one of which has been in regular production for a year or two now. On the other hand, the high-voltage issue and sealing of plug and socket are clearly 350E issues to watch for. What would be really useful would be a picture or description of what a sub-standard plug and socket might look like. I suspect you will get back something identical to what you had before and the dealer will simply hope that it doesn't leak this time. But, if you do get a clearly different plug or socket back then please do share the specifics. Ditto anything else they fix while they are in there.

Hang in there, you've 30+ months of happy ownership to come.

I can use all internet services if I plug my iPhone 6S+ into either of the USB ports inside the central storage area under the armrest. I am using Vodafome as a carrier.

Bluetooth appears to only support standard voice, music and hotspot sharing.

Quick question

Did 7 miles to work the other day with the display indicating the engine was off for 5 of them, mpg showed as 36 mpg???? How is that even possible? I understand the total is for the whole journey

I hate to interrupt your conversations but I've just gone and managed to sell my C350e, wow, shame but it really wasn't for me as I needed a bigger boot for what I do, yes I knew it was going to be smaller then the normal C's boot but wasn't expecting this small:fail. Shame as it was a train when you put your foot down.

Was lovely to be a C350e owner but I'm out of it now, have fun people

Did you have saloon ? if so.. that was my concern too.. i ordered without even seeing the car.. just pics.. perfect size for everday use, but if we (as a family) wanted to go anywhere over night etc it may of required a roof box !! Or even as simple as going on holiday getting the cases in for the airport.

My car has arrived at the dealers today ...

PDI underway with all the above to be reported upon :)

You'll love it - it's gorgeous

Most I'm seeing for electric range is 14 then getting 9. This is the only disappointment

The boot on a c class is reasonable, I mean its not overly massive anyway, with the batteries its just too small, were talking 2 medium size suitcases at a push, but id definitely recommend looking at one before buying and not do what I did. Oh well, got a new E class now, E350 cdi, its a completely different animal, but one thing id say is I definitely miss the C350e, it was special machine... (I did have the saloon)

99mpg from my 22 mile commute this afternoon. Done in comfort hybrid mode and then switched to E-mode for the last few miles to squeeze every last ounce out of the battery. Really happy with that.

Thats the problem, not one merc garage nearby has had one (at all!)
Nearest one is 15 miles from me. They had an order arrive last week and go within a few hours! - So not had a chance to see one :(

I like most have ordered with blind stupidity faith. :) :) - however, the boot / battery part is a known fact - and theres always the roof rack trailer option i suppose :)

i ordered blind... in March 2015.. Cancelled it in Oct once the MPG started coming in and i saw the boot in person... plus other factors too.. The boot would of been too small for us in hindsight now and would of caused issues... dread to think of the MPG with the roof box!

Ahhh fair points. I ordered end of July expecting in 3 weeks. However I don't do the mileage any more and only getting 38mpg from my golf gtd. So mpd on the c350e should be fine at its worst plus I have chargers at work and live 3 miles away :).

Totally agree with the roof rack part! I don't have kids yet so also have the back seat storage hehe :)

So,

My car was due at MB Oxford on the 23rd ... it's arrived early (17th) :D

... BUT ...

If it has been ready for this weekend I would have collected and not waited until the '16 plate are released - I've waited long enough already.

So the earliest I can realistically pick up is the 27th/28th ... (I live in Surrey and work in London) ... in which case I may as well wait until the '16 plates are here.

... but that then pushes the pickup onto the 5th ...

Ahhhh ... going mad in my head with this one :wallbash: ... I'm now delaying the car (it's a private company purchase rather than lease, so the extra value in the car being on a '16 plate will come back to me)

Wait for the 16 plate!
