C350e owners club

Thanks Ryeltep, will give it a go later. It does seem to make sense, i suppose i'd just reversed before it was ready each time its probably been able to do it :)

Wow, ryeltep i owe you for this one! :)

Thought i'd do a quick video whilst parking to confirm it works. (Yup everyone's seen it before, but meh - was fun for me!)

Was a tight space, and yup, did stick out a bit - but was fun none the less!

Space that i was parking in too:

The resulting park - with a few inches out of the bay. But i'll let it off:

Not the best photos but this is Crystal Grey Leather with dark open pore wood (not black). I like the natural look wood rather than the black but a lot of people like the black wood and if you don't want to pay for it the standard plastic would probably look OK. My design consultant (aka my wife) likes light interiors and I agree that black can be a bit oppressive. Overall I am very pleased as it makes the car light and I don't have young children or pets to mess it up. Materials throughout the interior are very good and build is better than my X3 (current model).

Nice, thanks for the video. Looks to work very well. I've not yet tried it (where do you practice?!)

Looks like a lot of wheel twirling after direction changes, was always taught you shouldn't do that to stationary tyres to avoid flat spotting them?

Good video. This auto steering is alarming. I set my Distronic and the car in front decided to turn left down a residential street. If I hadn't corrected I would have followed him home!

Great Choice Ryeltep - mines exactly the same inside and out:thumb:

I agree the natural wood looks great and is so much nicer than the piano black plastic - the black shows every fingerprint, spec of dust and marks.

Fuel

So, I pushed the car even further on my next tank of fuel.

As you all know the range disappears when you get to the reserve so it's hard to tell just how much fuel you have left.

I discovered that even after the last bar starts to flash, meaning, "get to a petrol station immediately", there is one more stage, where the flashing bar disappears.

Managed to get to work just in time to see this last bar disappear, put the car on charge then went to check the web app to see if it would tell me how much range I had. It was still saying 15 miles range of combustion engine.

Did probably another 25 miles of driving in comfort mode before filling up so I figured the tank would be well and truly nearly out of petrol and there was only 2 miles left of electric, so i'd pushed it pretty far.

Still could only get 46.5 litres of petrol into it though.

So it does appear that you can actually push this car further than you'd think before refueling. Which is good to know that if you're late for a meeting and low on fuel (as I far too often am), you'll probably be ok to push on. :thumb:

Hi Guys!

New to the site

Ordered my C350e back in December was originally given a date by Lex for 22nd April but this has slipped to a stock date of 20th May, has anyone had any dealings with Lex and how accurate they normally are with their dates??

Secondly i had a question about the 'led daytime running lights'. I've ordered standard spec with no optional extras (company car and not spending 3k of my own money on P+ !) and was wondering whether you get the xenon day time running lights or whether they will be standard halogen lights?

350e comes with LED lights - you have to pay extra for the intelligent ones which include the cornering function and adaptive beam.

I was always taught that too. But i'm assuming tyres are better than they used to be? - As the driver controls the speed, it can be mitigated against slightly, but not easily.

Ahhh wish i had disctronic. If i didn't get screwed around by the lease quote (as the government grant was iffy) - i'd have specced it up much further... saved £130 a month after they rectified it, but by which time the car was being built :(

Just joined the forum because I'm about to take delivery of my Black c350e PP. It's my first ever MB, previously had 3 Audi's on business lease. I would appreciate any advice you could give me as a newbie.

I have a charging point at work and my return journey is 16m so I'm hoping I can do most of it without using the battery. What are your thoughts on the operating and driving modes?

What do you feel are the key features of the car, high's or low's. Sorry for all of the questions but I'm getting quite excited about taking receipt.

Congrats, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

There is loads of info in here but hard to find!

Range on full electric is 10-12 miles in my opinion and a charge on high amps is 2hrs.

My highs - interior, power, cool techy stuff, brilliant blue paint, having a sunroof!
My lows - 4 week repair job on charging system (yours should have fix from new?), small fuel tank

Three weeks report

Coming up to three weeks ownership and getting used to my Estate. No significant performance figures yet; deciding which bits are useful and which I'm going to leave until I've got the basics sorted out. Can't believe some of the ergonomic gaffes; such as hiding those five switches and their lights out of sight behind the steering wheel. To open the tailgate you push the switch down and to close it you push the switch up! Note the ignition key in the pictures. I removed the start stop button having failed repeatedly to press it the correct number of times either to start the engine or to get out of the car without a torrent of abuse from the computer!

Pictures of my colour scheme; I went for a light and airy combination. Designo diamond white metallic; beige leather upholstery; dark brown ash wood trim (matt). Any ideas about the rocker button on the seat outer edge? Is that to adjust the lumbar support? Volume of rear Parktronic beeper is way too low. And that's about the only "fault" I have up to now. But while the COMAND Navigation database is OK the algorithm is rubbish compared to the 2008 C-class I traded in. How can they do that?

I got good advice from others here about specification and am particularly glad to have the Intelligent lights and the HUD. So thanks to all contributors to this great source of information. Still running-in so not pushed it yet to live up to my Username. Watch this space when I do!

Agree with the ergonomics points. The distronic lever has a light you can't see.
1st Auto I've driven and I find the D & R back to front ? Logically I would of assumed up for forward and down for reverse. Obviously its just me being weird.
4 weeks in and I still find things and think "nice touch".
Not fully mastered the bluetooth yet for the phone yet. I can do the basics but its a bit complex for something you use a lot. Again its probably me not finding the short cuts yet.
Great car though I'm well pleased with mine. I put the Pre heat /cool on tonight before I left work and got into a nicely cooled car.

Never heard of someone struggling with Keyless Go before. You only ever have to press it once to start and then once to stop.

Most hidden switches are for things you never need, light the headlights etc.

I'm sure you'll get used to it in time.

Totally agree with Reverse and Drive being the wrong way around for me, also a new to auto driver though.

I still keep hitting the wrong way just out of reaction.

Sure i'll get used to it. Just seems odd still.

If it is any consolation the BMW joystick type shift works the same way - tap it forwards for reverse.

I think it harks back to reverse being in front of neutral and drive on the mechanical auto boxes.

This is my 4th auto so getting used to it by now!

At last its here, been waiting since early September.

Out with the old 200d AMG Line

In with the C350e PP.
