C350e owners club

What were the signs and symptoms mm? Mine has a bit of a clock happening every time I pull away, even at a nuns pace, anyone else got this?

Clonk.. Bloody predictive text..

Was that all in Comfort and Hybrid modes? Refreshing to see good mileage. Thanks

It was a mixture actually. If I'm going locally over short distances I put the car into e-mode and usually I'm down in ECO too - when I remember that is :thumb:

So 711 off a single tank is the new target guys!

It made a refreshing change to fget back in the Benz after the 15mpg I was getting last week and the week before in the states, driving a 5.3L V8 Chevy Tahoe XLT :dk:

21mph average tells a lot though. This car can have immense mpg on short slow commutes. The small tank really hits on long motorway trips.

Fair comment on the short commutes, but I don't agree with the MPG hit on the motorway. Yesterday I travelled 160 or so round trip miles to Birmingham City Centre, where the only charge I had was prior to leaving home.

Despite this, I achieved an MPG of 50.4 and On the M6 which makes up the longest stretch of the commute, I was travelling in the range of 65-75 mph in cruise. And don't forget, I drive the estate with the extra weight of the glass roof...

What was cool too, was seeing in action the navigation working in conjunction with the hybrid system to charge up the battery to about 80% prior to me hitting the city centre

They reckon that the new gearbox might be in the uk middle of next week, so either end of next week, or beginning of next.

CLS is a gorgeous car, but very very thirsty.

I got better consumption out of my CLS 350 CDI than I do out the C350e. Which CLS did you have - a 500 ?

Thats good to hear. I'd be happy with 45mpg on a motorway trip of 100-300miles.

That is good to know. The car is great in the city - of 140 miles I have driven so far the engine has been off for 107! Brilliant. First time today I applied a bit more pressure on the accelerator and it took off very nicely even in comfort mode.

Delighted with it so far.

Hi everybody. Have got the estate version of the c350e. Kids are starting to want to take bikes on holidays, already got a roof box fitted, needing to get a towbar rack for bikes

Wanted to check has anybody found anyone fit a towbar to the estate?

Got the 360 camera fitted, just got standard sport version

Thanks everyone

David

This thread might help http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/new-member-introductions/177902-w205-towbars.html

I went with the factory fit towbar for the very same reason. The one thing to note is that the factory one requires the 18" wheels.

Not sure if its the case still... but an estate C350e can not be fitted with a towbar from an certified point of view if the car has 17 inch wheels as its not an OEM approved combo.

Brilliant blue in sunlight = stunning

Accurate electric range display

Morning all. I'm sure I've seen this covered somewhere, but whilst I know I am getting far better electric range from the car now than back in January, the display still shows 12-14 miles from the point of vehicle entry after a full charge.

Is there a way of resetting this so it shows the 18-19 I am actually getting?

I think I recall that resetting the Trip computer will do that. I am getting similar range info but find the % charge remaining display more interesting - that sounds a bit sad doesn't it!

Bricks and an extension lead... first world problems hey :)

That's amusing in a Heath Robinson kind of way. Would be concerned about potential for pedestrian injury and you getting sued. At least I'd get one of those cable ramp covers to minimise risk. Like the Yellow one in link, Cable Covers, Cable Protectors & Ramps - The Ramp People and I've got nothing to do with Health & Safety!

Good skills but the Mercedes Benz leaflet that came with my car said do not use an extension lead under any circumstances. The dealer also verbally advised this.

Agreed generally. But never had an issue. Also. Fully unwound with no coil and on its own circuit. :)

Oh My......
(This post is pretty much a description of how useless i was in reading the spec of the car!)..

So last night (2 months after i got the car) - i popped round the corner to get some milk. The heating had been off since Friday so i took the car the 800m! :) (I do love those heated seats)...

On coming back, i lined up the only parking space in my road, and a little nervous due to there not being much room, i knocked it into reverse and started eyeing up the space.

During this time, the car bleeped at me. This is quite usual, and i'm so used to just hitting OK to shut it up, that i didn't even check the screen to see what it was saying.

At this point it was like Poltergeist stole my car, the wheel span around like a lunatic and it lurched backwards (ok, creeped like a creepy thing) into the space....

i wasn't expecting this and did not realise the car came with a free ghost!!! Oh My!!!

So this morning i started reading the manual... And i found active park assist, yet i'm still unable to determine how it works or how you turn it on?...

(I guess that the Blue P must show? - i now know what that means!!) - before it is ready?

But out of all of the parrallel parks i have done, why now? - did i click a magic combination of buttons? :)

very impressed and still a little scared, but now to figure out how to use it, so i can freak the missus out! :)

I always thought it was an optional extra i didn't buy, hence the shock!

I tried to experiment with this at the weekend! You drive along and the Blue P comes on below a certain speed (30km/h). When an arrow appears to one side of the P it means there is a space. Stop the car. Put in reverse. It then asks if you want parking assist. Press OK. Off it goes asking you for drive and reverse as needed.

If you want to park on the driver's side you have to turn the indicator on.

I want to master bay parking but ....
