Car charging

Hi All,

I'm sure I read on one of these forums that you could set the car to charge during the night?

I can't seem to do this. Whenever I plug in it starts charging. I have tried setting the 'departure time' on the web app but that only seems to affect the pre-entry climate control.

Am I missing something? Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

My understanding is that there is not a facility within the ConnectMe app.
The screen you are viewing regarding departure time refers I think to the predicted charge level at the time of disconnection. There is a graph showing the time required to fully charge the car from the existing level. Have to say it isn't as clear as could be but I am convinced that what you would like isn't an option

If you check out the other thread "C350e anyone considering one?" you will see that a number of us have taken delivery, interestingly mine was ordered in April and delivered last week.
I wonder if your car is a corporate sale ?
As for the fuel consumption figures reported that have alarmed you I would say that it is far too soon to determine what is achievable. I can say that I haven't yet learnt to operate all the extras on my car, haven't plugged it in yet even !
We have read that some owners plan never to plug the car in at anytime because they are so thrilled with the BIK charge that any further savings possible from fuel consumption is simply of no interest.
Not my position I hasten to add, I am waiting for the electrician to call today to arrange a socket etc.
corporate sale? I mean I ordered mine through a car broker, but this wouldn't have had any affect as the order to Mercedes was placed around the 28th of April.

Also as you have got your car if you would be kind enough to answer some of my questions it'll be appreciated.

Do these cars come with air suspension? As ive seen people say they do.
Also has there been any changes to the body work? Meaning that this car only comes in sport trim line (Wanted AMG spec but the MPG was no where near C300)these came with chrome trims on the rear bumper, either side. Because iv'e heard that these have been removed but unsure.

thanks

I questioned the sourcing because I think that cars supplied via third parties may not get a quick a delivery as one that, like mine involves a part exchange. The dealer needed to forward price the PX and I know that the deal valuation I accepted turned out to be probably more than I would have achieved if Mercedes had predicted the extended delay of three months :(
All 350e cars have air suspension because of the extra weight of the battery and the impact of that on the ride .

A change occurred with the MY16 ( Model Year) which strangely happened in the summer of 2015. Chief among the changes were as you say in relation to some bright work at the front air intakes, the mirrors and the rear lower haunches.

BTW it is a great car, can't stop stealing glances at it :)

Tuning

I rang the company in the link ref the tuning box and asked some pertinent questions with ref to the hybrid tech etc. They said they would call me back! Needles to say they didn't. As someone pointed out how/ where would it have been tested in the UK? These are quite expensive boxes, buyer beware. Do lots of research.

For a company car - this is a no brainer. Take a fuel car and you can drive a pokey car and pay silly tax. Go for the premium plus option - its lush.

Ill post some photos later.

Only negative is the hassle via lease company to get approval for connect me, the lack of carplay and the shelf in the boot.

Best thing ? The kick under the boot to open. The glide when going through town on electric. The air suspension over speed bumps. Sound system bass. Taking out a chav in sports mode plus at the traffic lights...

In my endless searches for a new video I am sure I saw a. Brabus c350e with a body kit yesterday on web.

In the main massive thread - i shared a few photos of the C350e with the AMG kit

thanks could anyone repost some 350e with AMG kit pics? or provide link. How would this be requested at the time of ordering? thanks

As the configurator will not allow an AMG selection the only way I can see is if you were to pay for the AMG body kit as an accessory - that must costs an absolute fortune as just my boot spoiler was circa £ 400 painted and fitted ! You will see the AMG kit on page 46 of the C Class Accessories brochure

Must've missed that. But can you order it in the Uk from factory? Not that I'm aware...

First impressions on the car though- wow! So impressed. The cutting in and out of the engine is largely imperceptible. Sometimes noticeable at slow speeds but nothing serious.
It's a spaceship... Comfortable, quick, good toys. Most pleased!
Mine is an estate with Premium Plus (and the 18" grey alloys...)

You can order the AMG front end on the C350e from the factory in Germany, plus interior and from the grape vine, the C350e will come out in AMG trim from mid to late 2016 as a marketing decision. Also some further work needs to be carried out to reduce the CO2 standards with the additional weight and wheel size.

Looking at the picture above I wonder why anyone would bother to spec an AMG trim, it looks like the star and chrome strip mark it out from mine, both of which could perhaps be fitted from spares department ?

I'd have gone for it if it were available and the leading costs favourable- but it wasn't available so the point was moot!
The overall look of AMG Line's is better for a younger audience I'd say. Though I hardly look at mine and think yuk :)
