C350e owners club

Hi eveyone, its been a while since i last posted. I ordered my c350e in october! Due on the 20th.

I have noticed on the merc website that there have been a few changes to the model.

1. Blue calipers on the front breaks and a little blue badge on the front wing
2. The option to have the night package.

Does anyone kbow about this and when the changes come in. I would like to know if my car will have these changes...

Any help would be great!!!

I suggest contacting the dealer or ask the lease company ( to contact their dealer ) - that what I did, my car is due 22 July and will have the new changes.

Unfortunately my car has suffered the Water ingress problem in the bumper charge point, my car has now been with Mercedes for 4 weeks. The new loom required is apparently on back order and not expected to receive it until 1st week of June. The service manager told me that Mercedes are only making the replacement looms as and when they have a problem. Not sure if that is accurate.

On a plus side I have driven a couple of different model C classes recently and proves I made the right decision with the 350e.

They're obviously in denial about the scale of the problem if they still don't have enough supply of looms to turn this repair around in days rather than weeks/months.

You should ask them for a statement on the failure rate? I doubt they'd give you a straight answer but worth a shout.

I hope they are looking after you with decent courtesy / replacement vehicles.

I've had it down to 8% usually in hybrid mode just by braking or knocking the cruise stalk down enough for the battery to kick in.

Well I got mine down to 10% in E-MODE and Eco drive program around town this morning. But it then the computer declared that E-MODE was no longer available and switched to HYBRID. E-MODE was greyed-out and nothing I did could reduce the % any more so it began to increase slowly.

I've de-activated Pre-Safe Braking now; it was too fussy and intrusive and would obviously consume much-needed energy in heating up the brake discs. Never had it before so why would I need it now...? Not to be confused with Distronic+ which I DO like and wouldn't be without on the open road; not useable in busy town traffic, however, where I prefer to stay alert and make my own decisions.

This is a very worrying issue and not proactive of them! If like me you're someone who runs on electric for 75-80% of their commuting any replacement is going to cost a lot more in fuel!

What other c classes have they been giving you? Bluetec diesels I assume?

Is this ingress problem affecting both saloons and estates?

I have just found out thr car is due for build this thursday, then due for delivery around the 20th.

Great news but it means i wont be getting the my17 changes though. Mixed feelings about that, on one hand its a shame that i wont have the latest model i.e blue calipers blue lights, but on the other hand i am not sure i fancy looking like a GTE with these electric stand out things...

Anyone got an opinion either way?

I personally don't think you are missing much Tomlkj.
I would not thank you for the Phev badges on the front wings and you will not see the blue lights from within the car so no big deal to me.
You will be very happy with the car I'm sure.

Might depend what colour your car is. Have a brilliant blue myself so think the calipers and lights will compliment it nicely.

I will be getting it in white with the prem plus pack.

Would be really interesting to know what the blue lights will look like. They will either be sublte or really obvious.Thank you for the words of reasurance, the next thing will be the 2017 face lift due soon!!!! Madness that they are making the car look even more like the E class.

Yes that's what I am more worried about, finally getting my C350e then the facelift c-class gets announced.

Yeah tell me about it! I think i should get a discount for waiting so long. I know it will be an amazing car but i cant believe they are changing the front LED's and rear LED's.

Are we thinking September next year or before June June 2017??

Anybody have any experience driving a Golf R and a C350e. Getting the Golf R for a week on Thursday and wondered how it compared.

I don't know how they compare but would be interested to know...the R is a second quicker to 60 but has only 280 pounds of talk compared to 460 odd in the c350e. I would therefore like to think it would be a close match. That being said the merc is no doubt heavier

Random Question, I really can't get on with the Garmin SatNav. It is really slow and to me very unintuitive to use.

I was speaking to a colleague the other day and he said that he had TomTom installed on his C220. Which got me thinking, I'm guessing it's not, but does anyone know if it's possible to swap the Garmin system for a TomTom one?

This is on the Audio 20 not the Command.

Thanks.

In a drag race it might be close and 0-30 the C350e might even have the edge but the R will leave you for dead on a country lane because it will go round corners on rails. However you won't give a monkey's as you will be soooo much more comfortable in the Merc, even in Sport+ mode. Not to mention more stylish, etc. Very different driving experiences.

I used to have an Audi S3, which is basically the same car as the Golf R with a different badge, and it is the best car I have ever owned. As mentioned above the C350 might have the advantage 0-30 but in every other way the Golf will be quicker, especially point to point on an A road.

After the S3 I got an Audi TTRS and it was probably the worst car I have ever owned.

and there is the fact that you don't look like a boy racer in the C350e. ;)
