I am just waiting for my car to be delivered. I just wish i could of got the night package. But its already build and was irdered last june so it was not an option, plus its in a discontinued colour so there wont be many more built. Ordered june 6th 2015 C350e Estate Palladium Black leather , privacy If i was ordering now it would be C350e Estate , White Black leather , night package, Hope they do all the software updates before delivery as it was built feb/mar 16

I don't understand why they are phasing out Palladium Silver, surely it has always been very smart and popular and it has the great merit of looking good even why not pristine clean. White and Black look fantastic when coming out of the showroom, but they need you to be a committed car-cleaner. So maybe you will be pleased that you were not able to change it.

I'm sure someone posted the colours for 2016/17 somewhere on here and although palladium silver (which I have) is discontinued there is another colour coming in that looks just like... Palladium silver! The issue I remember reading was that someone ordered a car and it landed in the small window between the old colour not being available and the new one being launched.

Was that waiting time of a year intentional?

Yes, we were told with the uncertanty of the £5k OLEV grant last june . We had to order or gamble.

So we ordered 5 c350e cars , 4 estate , 2 palladium , 2 brilliant blue, 1 black saloon

2 cars have been delivered 2 are built awaiting delivery , 1 just getting built now.

I am just waiting for my current car to go back and take delivery of my car. Its the first car i have ever ordered without seeing one or a test drive.

I realy loike my current car, but i am looking forward to the c350e

A week or so to wait for my c350e and excitement is building :)

Quick question on charge stations please. Is there any mileage (pun intended) in using the ecotricity free charge stations for a quick boost or would I be wasting my time?

It depends. If at a service station on a motorway it could be useful for ensuring that you arrive in an urban location with a full charge. But at motorway speeds you won't see a lot of benefit.

Hi,

I'm expecting mine to arrive in a couple of weeks and I'd love to hear more responses to this question.

I don't believe the c350e has rapid charging capability, so it might take too long to make a difference.

On the other hand, the c350e only has a small battery, so if it can charge from 20% to 80% battery in 10-20 minutes, that's 10 miles of petrol-free travel at the end of a journey. Can it do this?

On Saturday morning I noticed the engine management light on the dash. On Monday I called Mercedes asssist who said that as the car was driving ok, they wouldn't come out.
Phoned this morning and they told me that I would have to wait for four weeks to book it in just for them to run diagnostics.
In the meantime I have been experiencing charging issues.

Drove to my local dealer to chat about what we can do, and he said he has received notification from head office that there is an issue with the charging sockets!!!

He is not going to see what he can do about getting my car in earlier as although the car drives ok, it is not what I am paying for!!!

I will keep you updated.

I did just this the other week. Stopped for about 80mins do have a telecon and got back up to 100% from around 30% (was a hot day). This then gave me the juice to run through some 50mph zones around Manchester.

Overall probably not worth it for a loo break but any longer it will be. Plus you can piss off all those leaf drivers

So after ordering in December it will finally be here on Friday

Saloon with premium plus to keep it under the magic 50 Co2
Tenorite grey
Leather upgrade
LED headlight upgrade

So is it worth charging on the mains to condition the battery when new?

I don't plan on charging going onwards as it will be a fully funded company car just wondering if a few full charges on the mains when new would improve the battery performance

I always do.
Two reasons.
1) It is a FREE boost - when I stop it is usually for a quick comfort break and grab a coffee, so a 10 minute charge
2) The parking spaces are the second closest (aside from disabled) so it is always a good place to park

I've used a pod point charge at a Sainsbury's a couple of times this week, I unlocked it with a random RFID card, it doesn't need a specific one! First time a 50% charge, second time a charge up to full!

Just got my first proper fillup recorded on my Fuel Log app, 98mpg! (I charge up religiously and my commute run is 19 miles).

My kids now know when we're about to go fast, they look out for "Sport" appearing on the screen! :D

Just driven 500+ miles across France to the early Alps near Clermont Ferrand at an excruciating 55-60 mph without any top-up electric charging. In "e" mode and Hybrid nearly all the way and using COMAND route guidance. The car seems to work as expected and is giving me 43 mpg consistently and is keeping the electric charge at 1-3 miles. I forced a full charge for a short while and got the electric range up to 16 miles for the first time. That did reduce the displayed mpg to 36 but it soon recovered when those electric miles were used. No problem getting petrol.

Have had to use the haptic once or twice to escape from predatory trucks. Nice.

So this seems to be the going rate. Can't complain I suppose, given a 2L ICE and this heavy car. I'll be back to 55mpg doing local trips back home eventually.

So I picked up this beauty today...

It's C350e estate, PP+ with all the trimmings apart from the head-up display (they just can't match BMWs) and the fragrance dispenser.

Took the train(s) from West Yorkshire to the deepest corner of Wales to collect it. I had used carwow and got the best deal with a dealer there.
The drive back was great. No surprises regarding fuel efficiency as it's all well documented here already.
It's a lovely motorway cruiser and perfect for tech-fans (I am one) as you don't run out of things to play with.

To address a few questions that some might have:
1. It came with the outside temp display
2. Online services/apps work with my iPhone 6 on O2
3. Engine noise is not something I noticed to be very loud or annoying
4. Mercedes me - still to be enabled
5. It'll do 155 mph without a problem - just kidding, I'll wait with that until my trip to Germany next month.

How did you get ihe online services to work with 02? I have tried everything! Hotspot on it works with iPhone 6 and Vodafone, I get nothing with O2.

I am on 02 and online services work when my IPhone 6 with hotspot enabled. I believe there are issues with the carrier settings (which only O2 can change) for different tariffs.

I still prefer the BMW way of sending destinations to the SatNav as there were sent via SMS to the car's SIM rather than this clunky POI download approach. When I got in the BMW any destinations I had sent were there and ready to use. Now it takes about 1min to get to the POI downloads assuming I am in a decent (3G or better) signal area.
