Electric all the way then. I wish I had a commute like that!

Your average speed looks low and I have a theory that it's inefficient using the electric motor if you're only using the first few gears. On the basis that the motor is turning more to take you the same distance as faster speeds in the top gears.

This was mine last week. I true 19 mile range would be awesome for me as I'd hardly use the ICE at all

Thats probably true about the gears (Although i'm assuming the petrol engine uses more fuel at low range too?).

On the upside, i managed to get home from work and back again on electric... Great for people 2-3 miles from work :)

Just got to wait for more chargers to be fitted at work. At the moment they are test ones and used mainly by the Trusts own electric cars. So its a shuffle about, borrow a card, walk here, pick car space, move car, move my car, and do it all in reverse after scenario.

Hopefully in a few months time they'll be 3 or four more spaces :) (At least 5 of us will have hybrids) :)

I'm a little dismayed but not shocked that the electric range is based on guesswork and driving style, rather then a more decent approach at getting the max range. It seems again its more like the whole diesel emissions saga, where the range is based on non-real life tests so they can produce a figure for paperwork.

Saying that (And as pointed out above) - i did get 17 miles on EV last week, doing higher speeds and flipping in and out on hybrid - with a lot of coasting :)

My suggestion is to try and do as many miles and charging cycles as possible in the first 30 days to make sure any faults are raised early.

You bet! I look forward to being able to contribute some more performance numbers on this thread on 31st March when I become an "owner" and properly qualified to be here. Just had the magic 'phone call telling me that my Diamond White Sport Premium Plus Estate will be a week early having spent Easter at sea.

I live just over 'the hill' from you in Steyning. My commute is between Steyning and Small Dole, around 4 miles each way with a few hills to go up and down. So far I have managed to charge at work and just about get home and back, so about 8-9 miles on a full charge all of last week. Having to drive very carefully mind you! No where near the 19 miles MB quote but I am not terribly surprised. This is the first car that works for me with a short commute but any further and I might be disappointed.

Steyning to Small Dole... that's a bike ride!:D
How does the car fair going up Newham Lane past the quarry, any charge left by the time your reach the bowl??

Haha. Durrington hill kills my battery so wouldn't dare do that route! And that area is also my cycle route. Tis beautiful up there!! Does seen that an 8-10 mile commute each way with chargers both sides is nigh on the limit...

Ok now i'm confused....

My car shows my odometer as 491miles
My 'connect me' app on the phone shows 491miles
The Mercedes website (Car Details Page) shows: 790 miles..

Mine has now been in the dealership since the 2nd of March. They are still waiting for a hose which is not available (and not the part that is broken)
I have now told the leasing company that I want to reject the car. Lets see if Merc spring into action!!!!

I had to reject mine in the end, my bosses car has been with the dealer for over 3 weeks with water in the electrics and many other failures including an issue where the car would not stop in traffic resulting him having to switch off with key in a bit of a panic!

...failures including an issue where the car would not stop in traffic resulting him having to switch off with key in a bit of a panic!

Do you mean the start/stop function, or not being able to brake? Surprised if it's the latter, but not sure how the former would cause a panic?

Under the new consumer rights act we have 30 days to reject (without having to allow mb to repair) if there is a serious fault. A real shame that it has to come to this but I will be reminding my dealer of this fact when I get an update on the repair. I wonder if any other new modern mb has had such terrible reliability from new.

As far as I'm aware, I don't think this new Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers you if you're a business buying/leasing a company car.

After querying my fault with my dealer, they have told me not to drive my car and bring it into the dealer. No courtesy car available for 2 weeks! I'm meant to be driving to Devon for a family holiday this week!

I got a 99.99MPG on a 9 mile return home from work the other day, very chuffed.

I've had a few good runs in the warmer weather and done 18mile round trip with 70+MPG. Which to be honest in far better than any diesel would do

I had a "spirited drive" home from a long drive home from a work visit on Friday though, 40miles, 30MPG

On that note, I've noticed the paddle shift is a little slow to respond, even in Sport+, anybody else got any observations?

Thanks for that ... I'm making use of my economy 7 (6.18 p/kWh) and the timed charging via Mercedes Me. So should be approx 37p per charge.

For info my supplier is First Utility

N_Jepson, is yours a lease, which company is it with (can PM). Mine has flat out refused to allow connected services, and warned against me activating it without their permission...

I'm with automotive leasing (via NHS) - and there wasn't an issue, withing 30 minutes of asking, someone had done it remotely :) yay!...

Feel for the ones who aren't allowed it though, makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Hi Saxon6..

Actually I live at the bottom of that part of Newham Lane but haven't as yet tried driving the C350e up there - I doubt it would get up it in E-Mode!

You're right I probably should ride to work but it's too bloody cold and I'm too unfit these days! I used to ride up to Chanctonbury regularly from my house - it would probably kill me now:eek:

I see you have a 4C! I desperately tried to buy one when they launched in 2014 but no matter how hard I pestered the Alfa dealers they wouldn't take my deposit - I gave up in the end and bought the XKR. I still lust after a 4C though - beautiful little car!

Erm.... Eh??? What?!?! Am i missing something?

All the data on the web app is by default in metric I think so that would be km - which converts to approximately 490 miles.

The web app only has metric units and US units as settings options but I believe US miles are slightly shorter than UK miles.

Started with 14 mile electric range when I left work today. It is a 9 mile trip and I have 3 miles range left so pretty close to the estimate.
