c43 to c55 AMG conversion

Congrats, Robin superb job. Glad to see the headers fitted to standard pipework ok makes me feel easier about my purchase now.
The engine looks superb the time and prep you spent was well worth it.
What are your plans regarding tuning the ECU?

I will re map many at cks performance

Hi,
So you will have a generic 55 (clk or E class) mapp fitted.
I personally have steered away from a generic one as my car is now running on a 43 ECU, with 43 TCU, gearbox and diff, as I will have the exhaust manifolds fitted with one of Olly's decatts and also K&Ns fitted I have decided that a custom remapp is required.
I will be interested in the before and after BHP figures of yours to compare with mine when I finally get it done.

Rawc43 / Andy,

Where did you purchase the headers? You can PM me if you don't want to post commercial info....

Just looked at that thread from the start, there is one guy who is happy with them but suggests checking the inside for any slight burrs or obstructions and touching a grinder on them to clean them up, and one guy who is not happy and reports multiple cracking. My mind remains unchanged and I,ll wait and see how I find them.

The metal of the manifolds doesn't appear to be that thin, the welds are neat and well finished with very little spatter and appear to have good penetration on the exhaust to head flange, the flanges them selves are well made and finished.

I would like to see them aswell Andy, let see what Olly thinks of them. They look good in the pictures :thumb:
