Detailed the Oil Burner e320 cdi

Your new roadster centre caps, are they the blue ones?

There was a choice either Blue or Black, i went Black so there wasnt to much colour going on if that make sense.

Excellent tip on the Clear coat for calipers never thought of that :thumb:

OSF Bumper/wings alignment

As above the osf wing was poping out at the forward edge by the headlight as the car had a small knock in its life on that corner it had been bugging me since id bought it, the panel gap between the bumper nd bonnet had also dropped slightly.

Well tonight i sorted that out, Jacked her up on the offside and took the wheel off to make life easier, took the arch liner out and removed the undertray too.

The Bumper and bottom of the wing are held together by a steel strip with a locating dowel at the end which you have to locate and silde backwards.

Mine wasnt located properly, so i cleaned the panel edges then slidd the steel strip in place properly adjusted the front bumper whilst i was there and Job done :)

Exhaust

Well did abit of work on here at the wkend, had a squeaky wiper mech to sort so i greased it all up, then these turned up.

Quite rare and were off a e500 saloon, so after a hour of messing about managed to get them level and fitted, going tobe spot welding them in place just to be extra sure there not coming off lol.

I think she looks great.:D

The oil burner is looking good like the star badged plates
As mine has to live outside I am fed up cleaning etc only for it to rain within hours of doing it

Thanks John, the plates were like that when i bought it. I'd hate having a car which has to sit outside, Love my garage couldnt do without one it was the deciding factor when i bought the house lol (just dont tell the wife) lol

New tail pipes and now de-badged

Front lower grille opened up abit didnt like the extra silver strip it had

Can't enlarge the pics -- so what have you done exactly to the front grille?

Edit: just seen it! Removed the horizontal plastic trim. Easily done?

Does it just unscrew?

They are clipped on with little tabs which you can just push down with a very small flat blade screwdriver, ive obviously kept the trim if ever i sell the car so i can put it back on.

Try this maybe a better pic

Next step, de-chrome rad grille??

Hummm, unsure on the Black grille maybe a step to far, But i love the BBS style wheels for sure ;) remap and wheels are next on the list.

Thought id update the thread, The Merc has been brilliant getting incredible Mpg upto 54mpg on a drive over 260 miles.

She's never been short of power or torque but the throttle response was about my ownly thing i wasnt sure about. Seemed a little latharjic "soz about the spelling lol, so i got her remapped yesturday.
Wooohooo lol what a difference,

Chip tunner's did it in Ipswich, small 1 owner Company but regulary does maps on all makes of cars but specializes in Merc's Audi's, BMW's etc.

The results seem awesome although ive no Rolling road figure before or after i can safely say it certainly feels quick, the thing just pulls and pulls.

Gear change is also smoother from cold (dunno quite why lol) but the throttle response was instantly better she drive so so smooth now and my God it shifts, Really shifts over 5mph quicker than my mapped 850r over my usual measured distance and certainly alot quicker higher up the Mph.

Cost came in at £200 and is certainly well spent mpg has also retained a good figure 40mpg and that was giving her a little stick lol

Will keep you guys n girls posted long term as early days but so far im very happy.

Wishbone anyone?? lol

Done my first repear on the merc today
