Detailed the Oil Burner e320 cdi

More spending lol

Had some new Disc's and pads fitted to the rear today as the old disc's were past there best and had got grooved some what.

Went for NAP Disc's with TRW pads as this is a couple of the Brands i supply to the trade. Brakes feels good, will know more as they bed in, also once they are i can get the hubs painted like i did to the old ones;)

Now we all know where to come for discs and pads at trade prices :) :)

Just a quick update, i had a brake issue after the new pads and disc's were fitted, incidently not by me:crazy: Perhaps i should have done, anyway the Nsr wheel was getting very hot, so i booked it into Cowdray Car Centre in Colchester, and told them about a brake binding on the nsr.

I supplied a New Caliper and a Brake hose thought i may as well have that fitted as they were there.

All good problem solved, i then later the next day had a issue with the osr, So i inspected it and found the Caliper slidder's didnt have one bit of grease on them. So i greased it all up and hey presto no more binding from that side either.

Just alittle anoyed at the 1st people who fitted the discs and pads, Surly it should be second nature to grease the slider's and make sure everything is nice and free. Anyway all done now and i gave her a wipe down with some detailing spray seeing as the weather was good.

Well she had her Mot today, Happy Days a clear Pass :)

Small update, Had 2x New Goodyear efficient grip tyres fitted upfront and wow sure is great having decent matching tyres alround.

Getting the alignment done aswel during next wk along with a nearside suspension arm as the rubber is perishing around the bottom ball joint and id previously had a new one not so long ago on the other side ;)

Well had the lower nsf suspension arm changed today, and had the wheel alignment done too :) drive nice a straight now and received great service from the Local garage to they even kept the car in there workshop after they'd finished as it was raining outside lol. ;)

Time for a new grille??

Seeing as the car did so well passing its mot, thought id treat her to a nice new grille, obviously keeping the original so can show any new owner it was damaged ;)

Car looks so much fresher and better for it.

New wheels, being brave

Another update, after having the New tyres fitted i noticed 3 of the wheels had kick's to them, 2 worse than the other damm it

I was going to get these refurbed but knowing they would have to be straightened to rightly or wrongly i decided to buy a new set and going up a size to 18's

Not everyones cup of tea but wanted her to stand out abit more being Silver it does tend to get dismissed.

Anyway here's the result and im chuffed to bits and the ride quality is improved both smoothness and alot less roll into corner's since going down a profile.

They are the exact wheels I want to put on my E class coupe but just can't justify the cost with having to have tyres as well
Very nice did you get them as a alloy & Tyre package :)

Hi John, yes they came as a package through Rimstyle, ive bought wheel packages from them before didnt have any issues so used them again. They are 8.5jx18 with 245/40/18 Maxis directional tyres which are midrange and seem tobe very quiet.

Early days so dont know what the wet grip is like not that the car gets used much in the wet these days anyway lol. I'm not shy talking about cost i think they were around £750 for the 4 including new 10.9 wheels bolts which was handy as i wanted new ones as my original ones had corroded.

Yes mate I know they are around that sort of money which really is a gift. It is me mate being tight. Wish my tyres were low on tread then I would have to take action. Nice to know no issues got me thinking again now

Nice set of wheels, Gav. Makes the car look younger somehow.

Thanks buddy, i bought them alittle before i wanted to tbh, i thought it would also cure a little steering shimmy i have at 49-54ish mph but it hasnt:doh: I think a one of the lower arms maybe the cause not sure atm. :/

Its not Rpm related so can rule out engine/drivetrain the n/s front suspension creaks alittle when i turn the steering but not all the time. going to keep my eye on it.
Changes on different road surfaces to sometimes there somtimes not so.

Hey presto! new wishbone fitted to the nsf and the Vibration has gone! thank goodness for that ;) Now to get the front and rear bumper's painted after ive saved up some more money of course ;) lol

The alloys don't suit the car so do you want to sell them on to me :)

ha ha lol im very pleased with them problem is im finding it hard to use the car as im reluctant to get it dirty doh:doh:

Looking like the weather is going to be horrible over the next few days so may paint the rear hubs and front and rear heat shields behind the disc's:thumb:

Hubs n Bay

Since having the brakes done a few wks ago i hadnt got round to painting the hub of the disc's so did that today as the new wheels showed them up abit.
Also wiped down the engine bay as the car got rather dirty yesturday after the 240mile round trip to mb world.
