Don't know if you guys will be interested...

I was trying to get the thread back on track to admiration of the fine RS shown. Oh how I failed!

LOL...:D :D

I have thought the forum is over moderated in the past but in cases like this I think better moderation could be done to to stop the subject going OT.

Hey we all take flack. I have had my fair share. I read it digest it and if I dont agree then so what. I move on.

Stats I agree with Alps in how you can come across at times.

I have noticed as well in what Tilly is saying many younger new members can be made to feel quite un welcome at times. My first post as a member on this forum with my 95 C180 didnt get one reply. I wonder how many replys there would be if I had a CL65 as a new member?

I suggest this thread is closed as this will no doubt cause more and more problems

what problem's,, ??

a forum is for putting forward your own point of view,, which is taking place here,,

close the thread,, i do'nt think so,, :bannana:

Surely 'Barry' (a term I've never used) is a matter of opinion.

Some people said the Sierra was 'barry' (I didn't, but I did say it wasn't my cup of tea). Tilly said it wasn't 'barry'.

Perhaps both are right?

As I said before, it's all well and good to express an opinion, but I think what offended Tilly (and others) was the fact that that opinion was stated more as a matter of fact:

"The Sierra's a load of crap, and if you don't agree, then so are you"

I think some people need to develop thicker skins, in the real world, as well as in this rarified electronic one, but it's also fair to say that a little more diplomacy can sometimes sugar the pill.

PJ

PS: I'm not leaving, and that's bound to offend lots of you, but tough! :D

This is observed this end as well.

Noted, though as in any forum there is always the reader's interpretation of what is actually meant by a post. I try and keep things factual - sometimes this may be misconstrued as bullyish / arrogant but it is usually not intended in that way.

The way I see it, whilst still maintaining 'free speech' and the ability to differ in opinion, people can still be more diplomatic and friendly towards each other.

There is no need to be deliberately inflammatory towards someone/their car/their opinion etc.

Sometimes it is indeed better to 'keep stum' as Alps puts it (see diplomatic note above)

Not saying that people have to agree on everything, but if it's not of benefit to the thread or pleasing to read, why bother posting?

And again to ad, that 3 door cosworth is not what I'd stereotype as 'barry' (one of the most currently overused adjectives around!)
I can't see what is achieved by calling it barry on here either? (other than arguments as found over these last few pages...)

Just the way I see things :)

I think points have been made and everyones feelings\opinions made clear.

Lets move back to the original topic ... NICE cossie.:)

Final post

A word of thanks to the member who left my only negative rep;

without identifying themselves;

and with the comment "See ya!"

Thats the attitude I will not miss.

That is totally out of order.

Blimey - and they say girls can be melodramatic:eek: :D

Chill guys. Some OTT and inapporopriate things have been said on this thread when all Tilly was doing was showing us the dedication that one guy had put into a car. The fact it was a Sierra was irrelevant - it showed true dedication and passion for his car and isn't that what we all claim to have in common?

It is a shame that someone has hidden behind a negative rep point:mad: - but I'm sure others will more than make up with positive's. That is just one person out of a fair number - don't let one spoil it for all.

There is no need for anyone to leave. If you start that game I'm gonna bring my handbags out and trust me - they're bigger than yours:p :p :D and I've probably got more choice:D

Let it wash - threads like this always crop up and in the most unseeming place - no one take any of it personally - move on!
