Audi R8 V10 Plus . MRC Tuned 655BHP Larini Exhaust.
Well, after knocking on 2 months of ownership, I am still like a poedo with a new Laptop.

This thing is amazing !

Each time I jump in and hit the start button, the forthcoming epic journey begins. More so than when I had my C 63.

Reasons:

Looks: I love powerful saloons and IMO , the E just looks more of a beast then the C, but that is probably just because it is generally `bigger` all round. Colour: I think the Obsidian Black is so much nicer than my previous Silver C63, but again just my opinion. Interior: This is a huge leap forward from the C . The quality, fitment, dash/console all just oozes quality and makes you feel really special inside. Power: Well at 550bhp, I aint complaining. Noise: on stock set up, sound much nicer than C especially on cold starts. Handling: Not quite as sporty as C, but handles the power at the rear with a lot more confidence and control. Brakes: As good as anything out there. Steering: Again, not as agile a C but plenty of feedback, and confidence inspiring when choosing lines, works very well with that much more planted rear end. Acceleration: What a rush ! In Sport + mode, a few seconds with the go pedal pushed into the carpet and it goes absolutely bloody bonkers ! And I love it ! MPG: Don't really look or care, all I know is , my credit card spend on fuel is about the same as the C. Value for money: I cannot fault this car, for what I have paid for it, I feel like a million dollars when I am driving it.

To say I am happy is an understatement. For a car purchase price of £40k+, there is nothing out there, that can tempt me away from this.

Don't` get me wrong, I loved my 507 Saloon, but this......is summat else.

Well fella, you've got it down to a tee. I've had mine slightly longer, 4 or 5 months & still feel just like you.

The last line sums it up. £40k for a car worth twice that new, with no miles on. Bargain of the century. I've had stuff a damn sight dearer and you can keep them!

Keep us posted.

Likewise Nige .

Be really interested to hear your views as the months roll by ....

Wouldn't call the E63 a beast on looks, not compared to a 507 C63, sounds like you got that sentence the wrong way round.

Front end of E is a beast !

And I never liked the rear end of the 507 anyway , too narrow , with skinny tyres .

At least the E lays plenty of rubber down front and back .

I've only had mine 2 days, but the cold starts put a bigger smile on my face than the C63 did.
Can't really say much so far, but its much nicer to drive then the C63, certainly feels more planted on cornering, and seems much bigger than the C63, especially when parked in my driveway
Just more grown up really

Thats because it is better my friend .....

My first proper cold start this morning.... holy ****balls! The C63 was loud but this thing is proper bassy, still very loud and with the slight spool of the turbo adding a very cool whistle in to the mix it sounded ******' epic.

Neighbours continue to hate me.

When it's really cold like -2/3 etc ,it's even louder !!!

Hatred and Jealousy are closely related my friend.......

The other thing I have noticed is, the blips on downshifts get louder , the hotter the engine !! I am talking in Sport + Mode....

I think it's about time that you and the car were introduced to Acid at MSL. :)

I had mine for 7 weeks before I put a Quaife diff in it and it all went downhill from there really.

3 years on and still loving it. :D

I agree Dave. tune and a exhaust tinker

Guys, our car is standard.

I was speaking to the head technician at the dealer. Now, he says they have had a few E63s in with blown engines after the customer remapped them - obviously I took that with a pinch of salt. Anyone hear stories like this ?

Our car is going back end of May anyway ...maybe C63s coming .....

Msl are are going no where near mine . Why ? Cos I dont need it . The car is purrfecto !!

Not heard anything really Harry, though I suppose a lot depends on the driving. Mine seldom gets hammered anywhere, no need really, though I may make an exception at TV on Sunday. :)

There are several knocking around now with over 700bhp just from mapping, though I'd be wary of who does the maps as there have been some "strange" ones around, especially in the early days.

My main concern with the M157 is the simplex timing chain, though I'm sure that they're up to it...

I thought of yours and the endless BHP you have. You've never reported any issues so the tech is talkin turkey or , those are the cars with the dodgy maps.

Anyway I believe, there's a tuning box which the takes the C63 to over 600 bhp .......

Would be nice to line up next to you this Sunday to compare the old with the new :)
