If you had £8k or so to spend on a car ...

How about?

I've had an RX8, be very careful if you go for one of those, great to drive, but a pain to own. For ever checking the oil and they have issues when starting from cold, you have to let them warm up before you can turn it off again!

I now have a CLK500, and it's a great car, so £8000 should get you a reasonable one. Fuel consumption is around 17 in town and 25 on a run, but that V8 is just brilliant.

RX8 is off the table but anything Mercedes 500 or 600 would be considered.

Phoenix Yellow really is an acquired taste but it is a real classic now and 100% original examples like mine are coming back into demand now. They;ve also done the new M4 in PY! Plus mine had 38k miles with a single owner from brand new and FSH from the same BMW dealer since new so I couldn't say no - it was stunning inside and out :thumb:

As said above, Estoril Blue is stunning. There are a few individual colours too, some of them are very nice.

Inspection II service is about £900 from a main dealer but it is pretty comprehensive. A set of discs, pads and sensors all around is £675 from the main dealer and a job which can be done at home.

Subframes are weak on M3's so have it checked at a main dealer. Luckily mine was given the all clear.

If you want any advice please let me know. Mine is an SMGII - it is a fab driving experience :D

Cheers
Bill

Big fan of Estoril Blue ... Lovely colour all polished up!

Will definately consider an M3

This one looks alright but is an SMGII unfortunately and has poorly-spaced number plate - but if that is all that is wrong with it...

BMW M3 2dr SMG Auto 3.2

I prefer this one which is a lot newer and manual but they've swapped in pre-facelift amber lenses I guess to make a change from the standard clear:

BMW M3 2dr 3.2

CL 55K for me.
500 hp and a great body shape (Only body shape of this generation that appeals to me anyway)
