I dont think CL's are that scary. No worse than any other 70-80k car. Dont get me wrong - im sure there are a few 1k bills lurking but that is par for the course.

These can be huge money pits... but they are fantastic cars when right.. good luck. As they get older there are more and more aftermarket suppliers for the common issues.

Drove her back from Mercedes today before she gets picked up by Lee, and no ABC warning lights at all. Car felt like it felt before the red light came on.

Fingers crossed all she needs for that is a whack with a hammer and a jubilee clip tightening up and you can laugh all the way to the bank.

14 hours of steam cleaning I did on that leather. Its like driving a sitting room around (a fast one).

Do yourself a favour and buy some black mats. I managed to get 12 years of dirt out of the pale yellow carpet mats only for them to go muddy again after 2 people got in and out.

If the red light comes and goes then the pump is probably loosing pressure. I had exactly the same in mine recently. I have the old pump from mine still as I or a second hand one cheap enough which has done the job for now. Might get my pump rebuilt and sell it on...

I do still actually miss mine...I never had any ABC issues, in fact the only problem I had was a failed crank sensor...they are surely bargain of the century at the moment IF you get a good un.

Probably...

It's going to need a bit of TLC and a few quid spending on it, but the devil in me couldn't miss out on one of the most, shall we say, delicate Mercedes of all time.

It'll be getting collected as soon as possible and then we can have a look at what needs really doing.

Anyway, here are a couple of photos;
