My new Toy CLS 55 AMG

I would avoid private plates that are specific to your car, it makes no sense on your future cars ..

Andy,

I think the grille suits your car just fine :thumb:

BTW, what did you do with the previous wheels from your car?

very very nice looking cls after all the new bits you've put on, I like the grill because snap I have the same grill on my silver cls,the oem grill did nothing for me and it needed some work which will be done to it when I sell the cls if I ever do and put back on. the 19's really make it pop, must put my amg111's on but they need refurbing and I don't know whether to stick with the anthracite grey they are now or go black or silver, the 18's on the car at mo are anth grey as well.

Very nice car there fella, will keep an eye out for it around Southampton. Much prefer the new wheels.

Seriously hanking for a CLS 55 myself in the next few months :)

£818 on Regtransfers...!

If you take the plate through to the check out by the time they put on admin and transfer fees and VAT it works out IIRC £1060ish the same plate will be all in at just under 1k from DVLA.
I was going to get mine from Reg Transfers but from what I sussed out that no matter what plate I tried on various sites the same plate was always cheaper on the DVLA site.

Still have them at my mates yard, interested?

I am actually, do you know what make they are?

Not a clue, though I have seen them on a website somewhere I did,nt take any notice of what they were.
They are 20", 10" Rear, 9" Front (I think) brand new rear tyres (285/25/20 Falkens) front tyres need replacing, no major kerbing.
I will look at the weekend for any manufacturers name, confirm exact specs and take some pics of each wheel so you can see condition if you are still interest, also a full set of wheel bolts and the required spigot rings.

What a lovely car! Enjoy it mate as I certainly enjoy my one :)

Looks good Andy!

Definitely the best OEM wheels for the CLS...

:thumb:

I'm sure I recognise them... :D

I think you're right, but in my case, as a current format, it wasn't that expensive (£900) and I'll probably get another E63 after this one :thumb:.

I'm sure you do John, a big thanks again :thumb:, I am really pleased with them, despite the associated dramas lol, we got there in the end.

This did cross my mind, though I could sell it with the car or if I keep the plate it gives me an excuse to get another 55 AMG.

I'm back to the standard wheels I'm afraid!

I paid for them to be refurbed to the original chrome silver finish and replaced the two worn out rear tyres and now they are back on the car - which was the original reason for changing plus I thought I loved the look.

Indeed I loved the look of these 19s on Developers E320CDI but I was never sure on mine and so I took the opportunity to move them on. I did like the width of them and the offset mind. However, I would have had to have before I sold the car as I don't think many would want them on there. I'm contemplating that possibility at some stage although nothing decided yet.

As for Vossens, I'd love a set as they look amazing but even these CLS wheels crack like *******s so I can well imagine 20" wheels would be even worse - particularly on our shytey roads.

The ride is much better on 18s again despite what I previously thought and the handling is much more precise if that makes sense.

I also like the standard look so that no one knows what lurks beneath!

I can also take corners faster knowing they wont rub - which they did do on harder cornering I found initially - even with 275s.

Vossens would be the way forward in future but having recently done the alternator, Airmatic pump and two rear shockers - with soon to do the front discs, pads, IC pump - money is getting a little tough lately!

Plus you wouldn't believe the grief selling them for one reason or another - including a locking bolt shearing off with half left in the hub. What a ballache that was! So I am done with wheels for now!

I'm glad you are happy with them Andy - and that they went to a good home. They are in great condition overall.
