My New W209 CLK - Large Modding Project

Do the decent thing and buy a V8 before you put quad exhausts on it ;).

That is actually quite a difference from the 55 bumper isn't it! Does look more aggressive and I do like the CF wrap.

Now you need the BS rear bumper and quad tail pipes, you know it makes sense.

Just saw your gallery pics, very nice. Looks so much better debadged, I'd personally remove the Avantgarte ones from the wings too.

BS rear bumper doesn't fit.

BS has flared arches which blend into the front and rear bumpers, hence it won't work.

How about it Rash? £5k for the kit (ignore the stupid bonnet)

Prior Design introduces a CLK Black Series inspired body kit

You're not the first person to suggest a conversion..

It looks pretty good, I have to say.

Not sure if I want my car to undergo such work though. Paint matching, wing removals, widening front and rear tracks..

Also, I wouldn't really want the "lookie likie" status.

I like my car being what it is.

1 quick preview photo taken with my phone of my very dirty car. woah are those pipes wide! even compared to my old C43 AMG rear box. The garage had to cut out a huge amount.

Karl, do you mean the garage just had to cut the AMG exhaust close to the box and add a weld or a clamp to make the connection to the existing exhaust ?
Or did it add a few fittings like an elbow ?

Because I found a cheap used one, and still in a good shape so I was thinking about it...

The rear box I got was a W209 one, it simply slot into place once we sourced an adapter for the pipe sizes.

The garage cut out the bumper section as it almost double the size was required compared to the OEM hole.

On a different note, I had to pull over on the M6 on Friday night as the wheel arch liners that I hadnt 100% bolted in decided to fly off under the car and melt on the tyres. made it to a garage and unbolted them

Tut tut...you live and learn.

Was on the way to my folks (who have a large garage) to fit the bumper/arch reinforcers aswell :( :( :(

yep, that's also a W209 AMG rear box I'm about to buy.
Do you have the size and type of reducer you sourced ?
If you have a picture of the exhaust underneath your car, that would be great ^^
I checked the pictures of your car. I did not notice it before, but they had to modify the bumper, right !

I know many people like the look of parking sensors on the bumpers. I don't. So after a little research, I found another system ;-)
As I'll change both bumpers, I just baught this :
- Sensori di parcheggio anteriore + posteriore
Italian website... here is almost the same in UK :
Mercedes Parking Sensor | No Holes | Front & Rear Reverse Parking Sensors

One of my mates tested it and he told me that's incredibly efficient !
I'll let you know in a few weeks.

Another point about the the GPS antenna. is it a OEM product for Mercedes benz... ?
A specific one for CLK... ?

The garage did all that for me, got the adaptor from MB themselves however.

Its an aftermarket one (fake), sprayed 744 brilliant Sliver and with Rashmans help managed to get its position 100% correct. :D

Hi Karl, love reading this thread.

What have you done with the original AMG front bumper?

Hi Karl, your retrofit job is amazing!
I have a w209 clk 200 2004 with prefacelift console and I want to retrofit that like you.

I have already collect all the parts that will need for the facelift console, but I need help for the radio cd wiring. My car has the comand 2.0 on console, without a cd changer & telephone device, and my car soundsystem is stock.
Now I want to change this with the facelift radio aps 20, like yours.

What adapter and plugs must I use to connect the aps 20 on my car?
Can you show me, please?

I will appreciate very much your help and your knowledge

Hi, you will need the OEM quad lock wiring adaptor/cabling. If you have a word with member 'Alfie' on here, he should be able to supply you with one.

Thanks for the comments by the way!

Thanks Karl! I have already contacted with Alfie and he showed me the correct quadlock for my conversion. The point is that the quadlock is little expensive (about £60.25).

Btw, I would make one more question to you about the connections of the audio 20. As I have seen in one picture of yours, you have circled 2 connections from the left side of audio 20 (black & yellow).

What are they connect each one?

Here is the picture: http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m248/KillerHERTZ/audiorear.jpg

Thanks again and sorry for the inconvience
