My New W209 CLK - Large Modding Project

Cup Holder fitted: :D

And the OEM CLK63 AMG Quad Exhaust. My indy has done an amazing job fabricating the pipe work. The second two tips are plumbed into the main pipe before the muffler, which has actually given the car a fruitier sound :bannana:

Nice, clean job with the cup holder Karl :thumb:

Not that I approve of drinks in the car:rolleyes::D

Nice work with the exhaust too. He's gone the right route with it, as apposed to a last minute stem-off from the original backbox!

Just a thought, have a look to see if you can hook the back boxes up a little higher on the rubbers. That will lift the tailpipes slightly as they are just a touch low at the moment.

Waiting for an oem drl mod that I can plagiarise.

Taps fingers impatiently ........... :)

I'll get the DRLs dont you worry, got an excellent idea for them :)

Had a look outside at it, seems to be at correct height, I think it looks like that because my garage cut a larger gap above the tips than OEM.

Thats looking really good Karl, well done!

You'll have to pm me your garage who did the exhaust, could do with quads on my twins on the C350!!

The quad pipes mod looks fantastic! I really wanted to do this on my old 203 :(

Just looking at this picture, is the cutout on the right a slightly different profile to the one on the left, slightly more steeply curved? Or just a optical illusion?

Thanks for the comments :)

Yeah, the cut out isnt 100% perfect, but considering they did it without removing the bumper its hard to notice the difference once at eye level. I will get a carbon diffusor to cover it up some day.

The welding, the bracket and the posistioning is excellent. + it sounds slightly deeper due to the extra pipes bypassing any muffler.

Being a diesel however, I do need to keep cleaning the soot of them after a long trip :)

I always quite liked the growl from my 270CDI

Top job KH, that's some CLK :)

Fingers crossed ill be at Jays GTG :)

+ Just noticed an airbubble in the carbon wrap on the right hand side of that pic...!

Ps can't believe the C209 doesn't have cupholders - my old C208 has a lovely rising and twisting double holder mechanism. Isn't there even something in the storage compartment behind the gear lever?

The cupholder wasnt standard on the 208 either...!

Looking good Karl. Thankfully mine came with the cup holder because I certainly wouldn't have stripped the dash apart to fit one although you could probably do it blindfolded now!

Quad pipes look great too, nice find.

What's next?

Quads look great :thumb:
Just need to convince myself they will not drone too much on my car

Dude, get yourself a carbon splitter.
