Take it easy man. :)

Curious to know what this brings over standard vpower?

I've never understood the desire for 99 or 100 octane fuels given that most ECU's are programmed for 95 or 98.

100 otane

Anybody used it? I am filling the AMG this evening.
Not expecting much, if anything to be honest.

I know someone that filled his Polo G60 up with a higher than usual RON super unleaded (I'm sure it was something like 105) and he was amazed how much difference it made to an already quick car.

I've just filled the Range Rover up with it. All £130 of the stuff. I will see how I get on.

Brief drive, I filled the 32 with it and drove it for 40miles, mixed driving, I can honestly say there is a bit of difference in performance compared to this morning, very responsive and just wants to go also seems a bit louder..

I wasn't sure on the old v power but this one is an improvement, IMO.

I like :)

Another shell wonder product, I suppose they can come up with what ever they want as people will buy the product.

Now sir, let me tell you about our latest snake oil :D

Released just as the better weather comes along and the performance benefits that brings as we start switching off heaters, lights etc. and with the warmer, drier air.

For combustion, not for drag.

Colder denser air definitely for more power

The fuel is 99% the same compounds as the fuel used in the Ferrari f1 car, 18,000 man hours, 120 scientists, Billions in research, might have something to do with it, those who normally use the previous Vpower will swear by it, and no doubt the others will swear at it, it's always been a debate premium brand fuel vs supermarkets finest, it's clear some will never use a premium brand, be it marketing hype, price or they do too many miles, car too old etc, I think we all understand, but also understand most of us have been driving for many years, have probably owned many cars, possibly invested £1,000s in tuning, and are not naive enough to take marketing spiel in face value without researching. I can honestly say I always use shell vpower on all my cars petrol and diesel and will continue to do so, so give us vpower users a break, We get it, but there is no real point complaining or being negative if you are not actually running the stuff, try vpower if it works and you are happy stay with it, if not I am sure a local supermarket will have another 2p of a liter somewhere :) but ask yourself this 2 identical cars from new one running vpower the other supermarkets finest, same price spec etc now be honest which one would you honestly buy? In fact the amount of car adverts these days that either say always run on vpower or bp ultimate, is clear some other cars owners think the same.

I understand marketing philosophy/practices very well.

I use V Power/BP Ultimate all the time, and I'm happy with it.

Some have had there cars remapped

Some have had there cars remapped

I understand that remaps can set for higher octane levels, but since the vast majority of cars are stock I am not sure how it will make a difference?

The ECU in my car has a map for 98 RON, so how will using 100 RON fuel make it any better?
