Surely colder, denser air is better?
Yes but cold engines use more fuel due to fuel enrichment being necessary for longer in the winter months. I'm not sure if many folks appreciate the fuel consumption figures of cold engines with all ancillaries going full blast.

So I think what developer215 was driving at was if you are going to launch a new " better"product this would be the time to do it to show it in its best light . It also helps this is the time people start getting out on the road for pleasure and possibly more likely to buy the stuff. If people think Shell spent thousands on researching this product in their technical labs don't think that they spent similar amounts of money on marketing it then it's being slightly naive. I guess we are lucky to have such a choice in this country provided you can afford it of course.
