Southport & West Lancs afternoon run & Curry. 25 September.

Meldrew, I'll peel off at Mere Brow. Do you know the Legh Arms has reopened under the care of the same people who have the Hopvine in Burscough? Everyone raves about the Hopvine, but as I am not a fan of pub culture I've not been in it.

I know the Legh Arms well - it's half a mile from my business premises and features on our facebook wall! It's a lot more "gastropub" and a lot less "pub" since the Hopvine people took over.

Aha! Guess I may know where your business premises may be! Did you know the Legh Arms in the days when Walter and Jean had it? I was a barmaid there for a short time - I was truly bad at it, but it was convenient for a little pin money when our son was young.

I'm off on holiday for a few days - back on the 14th.

I'll firm up the route, times and the list of who's coming when I get back.

Just bringing this back to the top to say that we shall be n holiday from the 17th for a week, so I will be dropping out of circulation. However, I've already printed the route and put it in my little car. Unfortunately, on the 25th she may be less than gleaming, but we're looking forward to it!

as a fairly new member the wife and I would love to attend and meet a few new people we will be there for lunch

Welcome kasper. Look forward to meeting you both.

Lovely! In particular, the more ladies the better. As mentioned on another thread, Greenie is having her brakes replaced tomorrow. Too shaming that there's a noise coming from one of them, I think the pad has slipped. If we meet at 12 I may have time to give her a wash and brush up.

Meldrew2, I may have trouble printing the route if it diverts from that already posted. Any chance you or someone else could print a copy for me? (I easily get lost...)

Bearing that in mind, I think it's best to keep to the posted route.

I'll print off a few copies and have them with me if anyone needs a copy.

OK - here's the route. I've had to change a few bits near Blackburn because although the route looked ok on a map, google street view told me that several of the turns were not signposted.

I'll print a few copies and have them with me - as well as copies of the route onwards for those of a curry-tasting disposition.

The onwards route has Parbold Hill and the Legh Arms by special request...

Friday bump.

Anyone else fancy coming along?

I'm back after a wonderful week on the boat on the Broads! Now, some of the lads on this forum can get near the knuckle so I'm going to do the same in a girlie way. After a wonderful week cruising on the Broads, with few opportunities for on shore showers ( there are two showers on board the boat but we find them a bit claustrophobic, so we just do dirty for a while), my hair is lank, I'm probably not the most fragrant. But then, Mr 110rry is the same. Tomorrow morning after giving little dog her walk, it will be time for a lovely long soak and hair wash, so little greenie may not be her pristine best. We shall see. But we shall certainly see you all at the meeting point!

Have a good time people, I'd liked to have been there but had TRAX booked and paid for a while now.

Sooner be local than down at Silverstone to be honest, but it's probably the last big meet of the season so my last chance for catch up with the Southern contingent. :)

Oh...my...word! Currently heaving it down in stair rods! Never mind folks, as soon as this has blown over, there's cloudless blue sky coming north from Southport, it will be a lovely afternoon! Accuweather tells me so and I believe it. However, no point in cleaning the car. I'm going to hope there will still be an opportunity to have the top down.
