Looks like a stupid waste of a valuable and rare 300SL body to me.
Why would anyone put a third of a tonne of EV battery into a 1950's coupe?
It's a replica, so either or really

Anyone notice that the engine supposedly removed from that 300SL was a modern engine and nothing like the original.
OK it's a replica but this is also happening to real classics even though there is not much of an issue with emissions from a treasured and highly valued classic car. Some of them hardly turn a wheel and those that do will have very low annual miles and hence minimal emissions. Removing the original IC engine is a travesty which destroys the essence of the car and the only excuse will be when the fuel is no longer available, which is not yet or for the foreseeable future. I doubt they are even nice to drive, the silence of EV motive power only highlights wind and road noise which is given special attention in modern EV's but older cars will inevitably suffer when the engine noise is removed.
I was thinking, "He who has the gold, rules" ie: financial incentives."Organise your life to avoid paying taxes on income and wealth?"
Or "charge when you can (or when you park), not when you have to?"
It's almost as if loads of EV's were sold to their first users in the 2020-21 period.Drivers are snapping up used EVs, industry sales figures show
Used EVs sales grew 52.6% in the months of April to June thanks to increasing availability and rock bottom prices.mol.im

It's not.....Longyearbyen, Norway is the world's northernmost city. The only reason I know? .... Sunday night pub quiz!
Start by asking whether they call Longyearbayan, a town of 2,400 people a “city”
(I haven’t watched three endless ruddy series of “The Killing” for nothing, you know. Takk !! )
