What I have read today on this forum from some of you has really disappointed me - the type of topics and comments on varous threads are just out of order.
The C63 is a Mercedes, this is a Mercedes forum so what is your problem guys? I seriously couldn't imagine going onto the BMW forum and reading posts (even dedicated threads) from people commenting that there was too much talk about the M3. It wouldn't happen and shouldn't be happening on here.
Just think about it from an enthusiastic C63's owners point of view - they are obviously as proud of their car as anyone on here is of their own car yet they're being made to feel that they cannot or should not be talking about it (or at least need to refer to it in another way). How would that make you feel if a person (or group of people as in this case) basically told you they didn't want to hear about your car? I apprecate that this hasn't directly been said, but there have been enough 'hints' in this direction across the various posts. And as for the need to refer to the C63 as a C Class or W204....WTF?? Get a grip...the average person is more likely to know that a C63 is a C-Class than a W204 is a C63!
It's not often I take something seriously and if it was me posting about my Porsche on every other thread then I could understand people getting fed up, but the C63 is Mercedes and the exact kind of car and owner that this forum aims (or should aim) to attract. If you don't like reading about the C63 then bugger off to an Audi forum!
I'm really disappointed guys...I really enjoy this forum but some of you have been bloody idiots today and, because being part of active forum that relates to the car I own is something I thoroughly enjoy, I'm sorry to say I'm glad to not be one of the C63 owners anymore!
Isn't it all just a bit togue-in cheek?

I thought so. I blame prprandall51.
Quite likely yes....but it's not really expected when coming to a Mercedes forum to be flamed (maybe flamed is a bit strong) for talking about a bloody Mercedes!
I've never seen anything like it....even on the Pistonheads marque-specific forums which are rammed full of numpties!
PB...give it up. The only flaming happened at 6.35pm to-day. It was I, and many others, thought good natured up 'til then.
Thats fair enough , but do you not find it a bit curious ....
If someone posts up with a problem with their CLK the thread usually is called ' Problem with CLK ' , rarely is it called 'Problem with CLK 55' ...
Same with any other model , unless it is an engine specific problem ..
'Problem with E class ' , 'Problem with SLK' ....
Personally i couldn't care less , but it's intriguing don't you think ? almost like wanting as many people as you can to know what you have ?
It's all been a bit of a giggle , there have just been so many 'C63' threads recently ... i don't read any malice in it ...
In fairness though, if you had a problem with your C63, it doesn't really sound right to title the thread 'problem with C-class', does it? This whole thread is getting silly! Keep it tongue in cheek...Thats fair enough , but do you not find it a bit curious ....

From my point of view, it was all good fun, tongue in cheek wind up! Don't be so sensitive guys! Yes, "C63" was mentioned a lot and one or two guys came over a bit precious about it and the veiled implication that jealousy and envy was the culprit was a bit unfair as I'm guessing most guys here could afford a C63 if wanted (£60K is not such a big deal these days!) - so, lets be grown ups and take the jesting as it was meant - just a laugh!
