Would be interested in the views and thoughts of members here....

The company that Mrs E works for has a leisure travel subsidiary and they've been testing out some specialised package tours over the last year or - New Orleans Jazz, Elvis, Sinatra, LA & Hollywood, Rollercoasters are some examples. Usually quite small, guided, and staying in nice accommodation, etc.

I've been muttering on about going to Germany and doing the rounds of MB, Porsche, etc - not Mrs E's idea of a good time (will suffer a museum for an hour or two...) so she organising what she's calling a "bubble run" for us and some friends next year. This'll consist of a few friends with some nice motors popping over to Reims for 2/3 nights, specially arranged tours of Taittinger (Reims), Mercier or Moet (Epernay) and one of the smaller independent growers out in the country.

It's coming together quite nicely and she's trying to keep it as fluid as possible - keeping the booked elements down to a minimum so that there is a large degree of independence too. Eurostar, hotels, tours, one or two evening meals, and a roadbook with maps, directions, recommended restaurants, etc.

She has two questions that I said I would ask the guys and girls on here about:

1. Do you think that this would work as a commercial offering? She's thinking of something targeted at owner clubs / forums rather than a general one.

2. If this kind of things seems a go-er, what other things might be of interest? Other destinations, longer "rally" type events, etc?

Thanks in advance for your input - and I'm sure a discount would be available for any MBClub event/members too :D

Very good;)

I think it could well be a good idea.
I personally, have no interest in buildings (prefer things with engines), but maybe a ticket to a cathedral or similar would interest people.
After all, it would give a slight break from the drinking.

Area choice is all important and if she were to do it as a package, maybe a choice of 2 or 3 areas would be an idea.

The wife has been nagging me to find a champers tour for months.

I just keep bringing a bottle of Boisel from my hidden stash out everytime she does :D

The budget would have to suit the type of cars doing the tours. I should imagine that the Smart clubs wold be interested.
