W124 300TD estate - fuel issue at motorway speed.

Defo someone has spend some time and quite a bit of money up-dating the interior to a face lift model. Also you have cruise control in there, very rare on pre face lift. Also I think the steering wheel has been changed to a facelift one. You have a bit of a gem on your hands there.

The interior facelift was around 1990, and also included the exterior addition of the sacco panels on the sides. The full exterior facelift then happened in late 1993 to concide with the model designatiosn changing to E class i.e E320 rather than 320TE etc and included the revised bonnet, grille, bonnet badge (to include blue laurek wreath), headlights, cheater panels underneath the headlights and colour coded bumper inserts.

Ah well that's ok then, out of the three I prefer the middle pre post facelift look that the others so I'm sorted. Thanks for the info Balge, even if it was grumpily put :-)

Education a wonderful thing. Bows to balge and notes the two fingers directed probably in my direction. :p:D

Grumpy? Me?

probably a good job I rewrote it then...

I only found out what the vent was about a few days ago, I thought it was for turbos...

Haha well I'm here to learn. All the W124s are nice looking things, whether they're facelifted or not. Good to know the differences.

A bit of an update, I've now done a long trip and the juddering has gone. I've not done the tank strainer yet, but the difference in the drive is marked. Success so far, so thanks all...

Mike
