My nipper has managed to snap it and knacker the swivel joint...

Anyione ever replaced one themselves?

How hard is it ?

In fact, how do you remiove the steering wheel plastic surrounds to get at it? Looks like the bottom bit is screwed on....

Remove airbag (ignition turned off, key out) by undoing the torx screws behind it. Remove the steering wheel (8mm allen socket). Remove contact spiral. (when removed do not rotate it) Then the cruise stalk is there.

Any issues with removing the airbag or do you just screw it back in?

Whats the contact spiral?

Hmmm. Not being too mechanically mind might leave that to someone else....
How long would it take a garage to do this?

Just fe-fit the electrical connectors and screw it in. In fact get a garage to do it. Expect to pay an hours labour.
