What car did you pass your driving test in?

Did I do it in style? I passed my test in a big Mercedes. A diesel (a surprise). Bigger than my current 221. But an old one, not only today but already when I had the test. OK, it was a lorry.

My Mums Mini 1000 on the 3rd attempt, (nerves did for the first 2)

In the 76 the waiting list for a test in london was 9 months!!!!!! So when I failed the 2nd time found out you could take a test anywhere, so went to Stoke, waiting time 3 weeks !!! Stillremember the examiner wore a cloth cap & had a thread bare collar. Looking back though, perhaps should have had more than 10 lessons. Five pounds each!!

My instructor seemed to rock up in a different car every few weeks.

IIRC the car I actually passed my test in was a black 1989 Ford Fiesta Ghia (Mk3).

An older & posher version of this bad boy:

i learnt to drive in a toyota supra 3.0, celica GT 2.0, MR2, toyota camry, and passed my test in toyota corolla estate (we were a toyota dealership at the time)

Now you guys are showing your age!
I learnt to drive and passed 2nd time in a Ford Popular side valve engine with 3 speed no syncro. The wipers were powered by vacuum so the faster you went the slower the wipers.
Not too many cars on the road then circa 1962

1969 triumph 1300 in light blue, had the power buldge on the bonnet.m The fore running of the toledo

I learnt to drive having a Vauxhall Chevette down my uncles farm for 2 years before I reached 17.....LOR 669R I still remember the reg.The old thing just kept going and going and going untill a tree finished it off.

Then on my 17th birthday I had lessons and passed with Bobs first time in a black Renault 5 back in 1990......when i did something wrong he used to say "oh you are a naughty boy"

That must be the engine where the tappetts needed adjusting every 10 seconds to keep it quiet

My Chevette's engine seized at a little over 70mph on the M3 near Basingstoke, I had to walk back to Addlestone where I lived at the time because I had no breakdown cover. it was 1am - I had no cash...
