What car did you pass your driving test in?

An Ivory (white) mini estate, with red upholstery reg EAE 222C.

A white 1966 Hillman Super Minx.

Passed first time in 1968.

learned to drive in my dads Volvo 740 estate!

passed in a Nova 1.2, much easier :)

Passed my test three years ago in a diesel Ford Fusion.

A 1964 Vauxhall Viva HA..........and at the time I thought it was a fabulous car........

Almost as bad as the aptly named FA Victor !!

and about which legend has it that if you jacked up the rear end and opened all four doors, then the wrap around windscreen fell out !!

Not very happy motoring, compared to now, but I must admit that my first car, a 1948, 848cc,side valve, three speed gearbox and split screened Morris Minor seemed so wonderful at the time!
I bought it for £35 in 1965 and sold it 12 months later for £22 and 10 shillings.
Regards
John

A Peugeot 205 Diesel in 1992, a car that was virtually impossible to stall

A red Citroen 2CV "Special" - seriously, you could see through the floorplan and I had to fake the handbrake working on my test......Also asked the driving tester not to lean against the passenger door during the test.

I passed mine in a Austin A55 Cambridge, after riding motorbikes for several years, in 1960.

Rover 100 (AA driving school). It wasnt a Metro honest guv'ner. :D

I passed 30 years ago in a 1st generation Mazda 323.It seemed very modern to me at the time as it had a clock and a rear wiper!!

Ford fiesta (AA driving school) and bought same car for my first car.

Mk2 Escort...instructors car
Learnt in my mum's Austin A40 (which she eventually gave to me when she bought a new Fiesta popular!)

Mini 1000. X-reg I think (1st time around obviously). 18/01/1984. Sheffield Manor Top test centre. Instructor's car. Hearing aid beige. Passed first time.

My first car was already in my possession at this time - a 1967 (E-reg) Mini Super 1000, OMP971E. Sliding windows, single-speed stop-where-you-like wipers, green flashing end on indicator stalk, seatbelts were an optional extra (fortunately fitted), as was the heater. Wish I still had it...

I am amazed there are so few Mini mentions in this thread!

Mk1 Astra 1200 in that awful sort of dirty green they used to have ..instructors car.

I am amazed there are so few Mini mentions in this thread!

Time is the fire in which we burn...
