What do you want to know?

JBD, quick question. I have had my c220 amgline saloon for a week or so, received my V5C doc, but it says w204 under type and not w205? Is this a problem, should i contact my dealership?

Hi JBD if you get a chance please have a look at mine too (PM)
Mine to, my amg line premier plus also says 204t in the type on the registration document.
I have pm'd you my vin.
Cheers Buddy.
Eddie

Keep in mind that the information on the V5 is only as good as details supplied/inputted/written down by the dealership admin staff. You have only to look at, for example, howmanyleft to see that many variations of the same vehicle exist, all down to input error.

My van shows it is has six seats on the V5 when it actually has five, an admitted mistake by the dealer.

Hi is the GLK not sold in England ? as I have never seen one here but after traveling around the north of Spain for some time this summer I have seen loads there ,,I do have to say tho it is horrendous looking

The old "square " model was never made in RHD. The new one [ just out in the UK ] is--- but diesel only for the moment.

As above, Mercedes didn't see a big enough market for it in the UK, which was a big mistake. The GLC replaces the GLK in Europe, but it obviously a new sector for MBUK

Hi
Brother in law has a B Class and is considering a change. He has looked at a GLA and a C Class, thought the boot a bit small in the GLA and the cabin a bit small in the C Class.
With an eye open for a bargain, which models are due for replacement in the next year?
(I told him I thought the E Class may be due for replacement soon)

i wish it wouldn't be so thirsty

Just a quick update! Last week I went to Estoril in Portugal to drive some new cars that are coming out. If anyone has questions about the following models please let me know:

GLC
GLE Coupe
GLE
C450 AMG Sport
A Class MY16

As usual, any questions about other up and coming models, please ask.

Hi JBD. My first post here, despite having had a MB for 12 years  (a C180K coupe special edition with leather seats, which has been a great car but getting a little long in the tooth and about to become expensive).

I have ordered a GLC 250d Sport Premium Plus, Iridium Silver, Black Artico, due at dealer in October.

Obviously I've not seen or driven one of these, but I know you have, so I'd be grateful for your thoughts on a few points if you are willing (the spec amend date on my order is 31/8):-

- is non-Airmatic suspension going to be a mistake? I'm coming from what is presumably a fairly firm suspension on the coupe, so I'm guessing the standard springs should feel relatively OK to me? Most of the reviews say they didn't get a chance to try the non-Airmatic.
- on a similar note, I'm tempted by the AMG line spec which apparently includes "sport" suspension (as well as the bigger alloys, more chrome and a funny shape steering wheel) - presumably even firmer? Difficult to assess the "look" properly as lots of the available photos seem to show non-UK mixtures of features.
- I've not seen any Artico seats before. I have enjoyed the leather seats in the old C-class. Worth the upgrade? Go and see some in a saloon in a showroom is the answer, I guess.
- the 360 camera looks useful, but another £350 or so and as others have said where do you draw the line?

Will be putting this on a PCP through my bank, which appears to work out significantly cheaper than the Agility quote a dealer gave me (similar monthly payments but much lower balloon price). Will also be selling my old 180K myself, the trade-in offered by the dealer was less than half the offer quoted by a well-known company which offers to buy any cars.

Thanks for your help/thoughts!

None of the above, other than the E class. Very sorry about the late reply, didn't see these

I think the standard springs are fine, it's definitely softer than the C class overall. The tyres are chunky on all the models, so none are particularly hard. Unless you want something that looks racy, the sport is fine. The main differences are aesthetic with AMG.

I like artico, but I'd go and sit in a car with it if I was you. I think it's generally more durable and looks like leather to most people.

The 360 camera is awesome, but you get active parking assist and a reversing camera anyone, so I'm not sure it brings much benefit personally. It does look cool though.

I think you've gone for the option that I'd recommend, the prem plus. I have a pic of one I saw in iridium silver, but it's an AMG

I too have a GLC on order and due at the end of October and have been considering taking out a service care plan. I am very disappointed to see that while all versions of the W205 C-class cost £30 per month, for less than 15,500 miles per year, giving a total of £1,080 for three years, the GLC which is based on the C-class, having exactly the engine etc., will cost £35 per month, a total of £1,260.
Why is this, surely the servicing will be identical so basically the dealer gets £180 for carrying out exactly the same work, or will the servicing really be different?

By the way chardonbleu might be interested to know that the question of whether to stick with Artico or change to leather has been the only point of indecision with my order. I am currently going with leather having originally ordered Artico.

Thanks.
