What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Chipsaway repaired lower bumper scuff incurred at last service....

Got back home after the service and MoT just a few minutes before the heavens opened. I now need to get the cracked exhaust pipes by the cat welded, which was spotted during the service. It passed the MoT OK but I don't want it falling off before I get it done. My task now is to find someone reliable to do it.

Finished today, but over the course of this week on the old W211 E220.

1. Fixed the rear view camera, moved this to one of the number plate lights.
No leaks so far, will update my reverse camera thread later with some pics.

2. Polished the headlights. Used 3M Trizac 3000 discs then just polished after this.
They were a but rough and looking very poor look much better now and very shiny.

3. Cleaned and detailed all the engine bay.

4. Fixed the bolt holes for the engine cover, couldn't tighten the bolts all way down.
Tapped and cleaned these and fitted bolts with some lube to stop them rusting.

5. Washed and hoovered and treated the tyres.

Old bus is looking good.

center console sat nav wheel to fix my broken one

Sounds unusual, normal problem I've seen reported and suffered myself is that the wheel operates forward/back/side and click but not rotate functions, caused by the crappy plastic shaft under the wheel shearing. Cure is to replace the plastic shaft with an aftermarket aluminium one, either DIY if you're brave or (shaky sausage fingers me) pay a local ICE mob about £120 (plus the shaft, which I bought) to do it for you! Changed the old blue/silver wheel hub caps and bonnet badge for new black/silver ones. Not the most revolutionary mod in the world, but looks much better with Thulite Red than the blue ones.

Nothing at all. Mine are all tucked away whilst we have some building work done. Only the Smart remains out and available. I love the Smart but I’m missing ring able to drive the others.

Updated the Nav software in the GT, all 28GB of it. Peeled off the change diff oil sticker now I have confirmed it was actually done.

Emptied all my belongings out before she goes. Welling up , but better things to come.

So what happened to the bling red wheels?
Thought it was a good idea, so had to do it, didn't like as much as I thought I would. Put the 5 spokes back on, and have to say they do look good. :)👍

Nothing really except for having a nightmare last night in which some bugger stole all four doors from her.
Can you guess what was the first thing I did when I woke up?

Got out of bed? Went for a pee? Put a robe on? Ordered a new car?
You didn't check the car to see if it had all the doors did you?

So many questions. :)
