What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Booked it for rear discs and pads change ... was going to do this myself, as I did the front pads a few months ago and was feeling rather brave.
But then ... reality check and I was on the phone to Nick at Parkham Garage. I'll use the opportunity to check and renew waxoyl coating underneath too.
As I'm getting the car ready for sale, these TRW discs and OE pads should last the new owner a good while.

Cleaned my seats , my light grey seats and the door handles 🥴
Hoovered it on Monday, washed it a few days ago ,
I've never done so much cleaning 😕

Took it to my detailer in the rain. It's been two weeks since he did it last, and since then I've only taken it for one quick drive (on a beautiful evening) to make sure it doesn't stand still too long. It starting raining heavily whilst I was there and it hasn't stopped since, so it's now dirtier than it would have been had I stayed at home!! :D

Booked in to have the hood sealed with Gtechniq Smart Fabric, and to switch to winter tyres.

It wears Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres in the summer, and the "skipping" (often described as crabbing) is already making appearance on (or close to) full lock, so the Pirelli Sottozero tyres will come out of storage early this year.

Given that it was already dirty, I went for a drive in the rain this morning, foolishly with the roof down, so the interior will need an extra meticulous going over now too! Cars are for using though 👍🏻

So glad I did the wash-n-wipe and took some photos on Thursday ... it hasn't stop raining ...

Service the car today.w204 c class. Oil changed, oil filter spark plugs etc.brake fluid flush on Wednesday by mechanic.😄

Just changed the O2 sensor under the car on the E class , I used a Bosch one again because when I went on eBay to check which one I had ordered a couple of years ago I saw they had a 5 year warranty .
So this time it’s a free swap this time :)

I took one to the Pirelli Performance Centre in Burton upon Trent (head office) to have my winter tyres fitted. Falling temperatures were affecting the tyres, especially in the rain, so It was time to switch.

Within a couple of minutes or leaving there was an almighty downpour, and the difference between the summer and winter tyres was dramatic, both psychologically and physically!

Found some water in the E class boot , as it’s sunny I took all the inside boot trim out to dry , I think it’s coming from the light cluster seal .
I’ve removed both lights and siliconed the foam seals on both sides before refitting . I might have to replace the plastic drain strips that are on either side of the boot which show some cracking , but that might be in the future .
With rain forecast next two days I won’t have to wait long to check if it’s worked .

Leave the boot trim and everything off till you know it is ok.

These are handy for such situations.
