What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Just driven the Wrynose & Hard Knott passes in the Lake District. I have driven some challenging passes throughout Europe but this is up there with the best of them. Apparently this is the steepest road in England and It’s not for the faint hearted. Driving rain with the wipers on full pelter made conditions far from ideal. Well worth it regardless.

Googled it and it certainly looks an 'interesting' drive

In hindsight I should have googled it myself. I just created some routes that looked interesting and mountainous in Basecamp then viewed in GoogleEarthPro before loading into Command NTG4.5 and driving them.

but would you have still gone if you had checked it out before?
I didnt know much about the Nurburgring before my son went, just aswell cos I would have been worried. But I certainly found out about it after his major accident!

Had the taxi MOT'd 3 weeks early. It passed.

Two advisories which I knew about. Front and rear pads low. I have the front pads at home already. Just got to get myself some rear pads, either TRW, Brembo or Pagid.
Which would you go for?
I already have TRW low dust for the front.

There is always some risk with challenging roads and it is only by driving them that we can become better drivers. Had I checked it out before it may have given me more motivation to drive it, but it would not have deterred me.
I am sorry to hear of your sons accident at the Nurburgring and hope he got out unharmed.

Washed it, then clayed and then polished, too knackered to wax it today, that will be tomorrow's job.

Booked one in for new brake pads all round. It gets through a set every 13,500 miles 😳😬

Met up with trusted PDR guy...car booked for next week to sort minor roof dent (pull).

Ordered Vantrue N4, (3-channel), dash cam plus GPS mount & hardwire kit, (& micro sd card).

Yesterday I washed the CLS and the wife valeted the inside and now it's cleaner than a clean thing.🚘

Just back from a 3000 mile holiday and the brake pad warning light came on whilst away, so yesterday it had fresh pads all round courtesy of @ACID at MSL Performance (excellent service as always), and today it was detailed - my goodness it’s looking fantastic 👌🏻

Just bought pre-paid Service Care plans for two cars using the 20% off discount. It's taken weeks because they're not listed on the website and so can't be purchased online - I've been waiting for them to do something in their back-end systems to enable them to complete the purchase over the phone. Sorted now though.

Is that the normal offer or some special code?

Cleaned, treated and waxed brake pipes.

Not mine but a mates W204 that is due its MOT soon.
Last time I serviced it I noticed the brake pipes doing the standard W204 corrosion thing.

Still in good condition above the sub frame so that is a bonus.

Replaced the rear tyres with Michelin PS4’s. A slow puncture appeared last week, and over the course of the week it transpired it wasn’t that slow. The inner sidewall had major cracks round the circumference. It was getting changed in any case as it was 6 years old.

Stick with TRW if you are happy with them , you know how fussy you are ;)
