What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Have been reluctant to fix the front plate using tape because of the cranked mount.
In fact I’ve also been reluctant to fix a 3D plate plate for the same reason, that is unless somebody in here has done it successfully. 🤔
My S63 has a cranked mount. Actually it does not have a mount as I removed it. Got a 3/4 size plate made, yup its not legal, marked the centre, clamped it in my vice & gently used a heat gun on it & bent it, not too much. Tried it & repeated process until I had the correct angle. I actually used screws but could have used tape. If you fit it with tape without putting a set into it, it will quickly peel off as the plate tries to retain the original shape👍

Do you mind me asking where you got your center caps from, I'm having a wheel refurb done soon and would like to replace caps. Cheers matt.
Of course, only cheap ones off the bay:

I put a bit of clear coat on them but they look good enough IMO, only summer wheels mind. If they don’t last I’ll go OEM next time.

Thanks for reply and info, might try those, such a variation in pricing from £7-10 £20 £70-80.
My thoughts exactly, might be sacrilegious to some but at that price it would be worth it to see. As I say if they aren’t any good then you can spend £60-£70 after.

I paid around £10 on Amazon for some in 2017. They faded over the four years so I bought some more for £11 a few weeks ago. Neither supplier has them in stock at the moment but the cheapies look fine to me.

This week I have been mainly driving it. My wife's on a course working long hours so I've been doing school drops & pickups, supermarket runs, etc. I injured my left hand at the weekend somehow and changing gear seems to aggravate it so I've binned off the Fiat 500 and have been slumming it in the Merc all week. I'd forgotten how stress-free it is to drive in London traffic.

And today my replacement Arnotts arrived. It took me all of 5 minutes to book the car in to get them fitted - next Tuesday it is then.

Driving a Merc after being in a fiat. Bit of a come down eh 😂

I noticed the ML was looking super dusty and dirty today in the sun despite not moving all week. Time to get the buckets out!

Fixed the cup holder

Is it only me but I cannot think why anybody would want a cup holder in a car. Even on car review a cup holder, or lack of, always gets a mention. If we want a drink when we are out in the car we stop, relax and have one at a Cafe, road service area or similar, not have a drink on the move.

Vive la difference.

Personally I like cupbolders. They’re useful on long journeys especially. I like two per person, so there’s space for a hot/cold drink and a bottle of water for each person. We’re all different though.

Received the same set as you have from the same eBay seller, they look pretty good to me, I feel a bit cheap and dirty, but I can live with that, thanks again.

Took the Coupe to MSL just because I've not been for ages.

Had a chat, got a brew off the boss (eventually and after lots of whining) and then headed home again. 220 miles for a brew may seem excessive but, apart from Doctors and Clinics, it was probably my first trip anywhere this year. :(

Was nice to get the car out to stretch it's legs as well.

Fitted some ambient lighting that I got from eBay didn't thinkit would be any good but better than I thought IMG_20210501_204201.jpg
