What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Oil change, Fuel Filter & Air Filter on the W212 OM651.

Those little oil pumps are very handy, much prefer doing this a couple of times a year than crawling around underneatch.

Ahh u can educate me, i see you have a lidil pump.
How do you straighten out the pipe you insert into the dip sick hole, mines all bent up in the box and won't straighten out i have tried hanging it on the back of the door for a few weeks with a small weight on it but it does not help. I don't fancy sticking down the hole bent as you don't know where its going or could get stuck on. Thanks in advance gang.

Just warm it up and it will soften.

Warm it in water i take it? thanks.

Managed to fit the new front airmatic struts that I’d bought from Rockauto. Did a little clear wax oil whilst in the arches, job went well on the whole, although difficult with the short days, father ended up holding torch whist I fitted arch liners. Couldn’t get front end raise initially, but I think that was because the rear had raised a lot, drove home (6 mile) cycling the raised button, and going through the two damping setting, and when I parked up used raise vehicle button and everthing started working as it should, another job sorted on the E55, next the parasitic battery drain to sort, but not today.

Driving it loads over horrendous London roads.

Lots to do to keep it in shape and it can feel like the problems never end, but grateful to own a nice car.

I did a job today I've never done before.
The air con in the E280 Estate has been a bit smelly a couple of times recently.
I used a Triple QX Aircon Sanitizer Aerosol from ECP ... Only cost £3.79 and easy to use.
Just followed the instructions.
It's hard to say how effective it has been.
The car smells like a cross between toilet cleaner and a tart's boudoir.
I guess that will fade away after a couple of drives.

Bought more polish, well my wife did say "how many wash mitts car a man have", so i thought i better not buy anymore of them.

Washed the old girl. My new neighbour has started to have a lot of bonfires and so the car gets covered in the fallout, quite annoying

Renewed the insurance on four of them which share a multi-car policy.

The renewal quote had come down quite a lot compared to last year (11.6%) which was already good value, so i was tempted to just let it renew as it was even better value.

However I phoned and asked if they could do better and the price tumbled even further (37%). I was staggered. They assured me that the cover is unchanged.

Few days late, but what the heck:

One was MOTed last week, and treated to a pair of new rear shock absorbers - the air bags were replaced last year, and the integrated front air struts and compressor were replaced the year before - so the suspension has been been pretty much renewed in recent years..

Another had the fuel filler flap recess replaced as it had somehow distorted and prevented the fuel filler flip from opening. Mobilo replaced the actuator on the drive but it still wouldn’t open. Dealer insisted that it wasn’t covered by the Mercedes-Benz warranty but Customer Services later sent me a voucher to offset the cost.

Replaced both licence plate lamps at rear of C200 Kompressor.
Both lamps were pretty black.
Also cleaned lenses.
Fiddly job - But much improved.

Winter wheels/tyres on today

Noticed that my car no longer pulls to the side, so my summers need rebalancing. Nearly went to get the tracking done this morning but thought I’d give the winters a go before doing it. Glad I did!

Nice to have a car that goes straight!

I have been using an AA Solar trickle charger that I borrowed, as dont use car every day and decided to buy one as quite cheap.
